Eateries @ 1 Utama

On Chinese New Year Eve I had a walkabout at 1 Utama and in the process, spotted some eateries.

Cinnabon is opening (or relocating) at the old wing. I remember that they were at the lower ground floor at the new wing. I used to be a fan of the cinnamon rolls.

Hai Di Lao is still around. I have never eaten here since I am not a fan of hotpot.

Isetan used to be here and there were many nice restaurants on this floor. My favorite was Menya Musashi. So sad that they are not here anymore.

I have tried Tokyo Secret's cheese tarts but I don't think I have blogged about it.

The fella here reminds me of my cousins on my dad's side of the family. They don't read my blog so I can make snarky remarks.

Some folks from the clan used to make unkind remarks about my weight (I was a chubby kid then), so here's some snarky back.

I have tried Boost once but the drink tasted artificial to me. Fruit juice is not healthy. You are better served eating the whole fruit.

Feifan Hotpot. I love the lanterns.

I have been to Hokkaido Sushi before and I would like to come back.

Yun Bridge Noodle. I have never been here before.

I'm afraid I don't like anything mala.

I like Wondermama and the last time I was there was in 2018.

One day I must come to Thai Hou Sek. Must tell my partner that we have to move on beyond Chili's LOL!

I love Thai food!

Empire Sushi used to have an outlet at The Starling.

Dragon-i is still doing well. My partner and I have dined here a few times.

This space has changed hands many times.

Pho Vietz is one of my favorites. I go to the one at The Starling.

Now of course due to my carb restriction, I don't go as often.

This one needs no introduction.

Mak's Chee is still going strong. The first time I came here was in 2019.

Kyochon is still popular. I only dined in once at the SS 2 outlet.

Then I came upon this Yakiniku Kuro. Hmmm!

It's a Wagyu BBQ place.

Pricey of course.

There is even a bento set. I wonder how you are going to grill this when it reaches you at home. Besides the portion is so small, won't be enough for me.

Ah! I must keep this chart to learn the various beef cuts.

I don't think I have been to Black Canyon, there is one at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama.

Of course the eateries above are not exhaustive, there are lots more restaurants and cafes at 1 Utama

Lastly before I made my way home, I noted that Go Noodle House is now known as Go Unique

  2. From your walkabout (it's like a trip down memory lane), I enjoy Mak Chee's, Dragon-i, Go Noodle House (had Empire Sushi, Wondermama before too & had Chili's a long time ago) and love Black Canyon's coffee (not the food). Like you, I don't fancy hotpot all that much...and certainly not mala! >.<

  3. What food does Wondermama serve? (The pic/menu is too far/small to see). I think I had seen Empire sushi at JB before. I had eaten at Dragon-i with my buddy before and we both liked it.

  5. The set meal at Thai Hou Sek is a rock-bottom deal with big portion food, I think you should try it.
