Since I was going there, I might as well go look at the Chinese New Year decorations.
As soon as I stepped inside I saw this space undergoing renovation. Come True Cafe. Coming soon. I looked at the poster - Mango Nitro Coffee and Mango Snowberry Souffle. Hmmm!!!
This one (to me) not so interesting. Only applicable if you are married to (or maintained by) a taukeh with deep pockets and equally deep affection for you. Or you yourself have deep pockets. Heh!
If you want to take photos of decorations at the mall, you have to come early before other people make a nuisance of themselves. Or the other way around.
The theme is a pavilion surrounded by a pond with water lilies and fish.
Under the bridge are "rocks", "Koi fish" and pretty water lilies. A nice place to rendezvous on on Chap Goh Meh or Valentines Day, eh? Not really though. It would be crowded.
There were also these colorful trees. And that was it. I also took a walk on all floors at both wings. More on that in another post. After I went to the pharmacy, it was time to make my way home.
Sure not lots of shoppers on the eve....thanks for the photos. Happy Chinese New Year.
ReplyDeleteThe decorations are indeed very majestic and grand. The colourful bird should be a phoenix, yes no? Phoenix stands for the female for the Chinese, which in Chinese is known as Long (dragon) and Feng (phoenix). I went Bugis Plus Shopping Mall yesterday and there they line up a row of yellow lanterns as the body of the snake with a huge cartoon plush toy snake head sticking out the tongue and blinking one eye. My plans was to enjoy Japanese food lunch (Ten Don) and I was solo. I was there early at 11 plus am and like you said the restaurant was empty but got filled up pretty quickly after that with solo diners like me and groups of two, three, four diners. I enjoyed the ten don lunch but got very thirsty after that which I had to get a cold can coke to quench my thirst. Since I had time before my movie, I took the chance to buy eye drops and a journal book for my hobby. After movie it was around late afternoon when I headed home.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the photos and they did justice to the beautiful decorations. Chinese new year is no longer like the old days where all stalls and shopping malls are strictly closed on day one day two and day three. This is because times have changed and in Singapore there are many expatriates, migrant workers and maids so the shopping malls have to cater to these groups. Moreover the shopping mall landlords will request the tenant shops to operate even during public holidays.
