Baba No Nonya

There used to be a restaurant called EG's Wok Kitchen at this corner but unfortunately the eatery did not even last for a year.

This shoplot, along the same row as The Ship is very low energy. It is one of the "dead zones" in Damansara Utama

When I passed this area (by car), I noticed that EG's Wok Kitchen was no more and in its place I saw the new signboard but only the name "Baba" caught my eye. So I automatically assumed that it was a nonya restaurant. Silly me.

Well.

As it turned out, the name of the restaurant is Baba Hur which specializes in Turkish food. Ah!

After I visited another restaurant nearby, I decided to check Baba Hur's menu.

I am familiar with Kebab and mind you, I have made Pide (Turkish Pizza) before. Yes! Baba Hur is earmarked for a future visit.

Since I was in the area, I also checked other eateries which I previously visited.

Hungry Bacon is still around. Perhaps a revisit is in order.

KBN King's Seremban Beef Noodle is also still standing.

In fact I revisited in November last year.

I had green tea.

And a soup with tendon, sliced beef and tripe.

That was a good carnivore compliant meal. Yay me!

  1. Agree with you that having restaurants lining up in our list for us to try is good for us because it means we have more choices, even better when we found cheap and yummy food. Expensive food does not mean it will be good, I had tried expensive food with all the hype and they were big mistakes. So do not be fooled by all the hype or be influenced by peer pressure, sometimes their food are expensive bcos they spent a lot on advertising. Trust your own tongue.

  2. Some shops can't survive and some choose to close down. Here also same. I haven't try, they already close down
    Sigh.

  3. Ah, I know this row of shops. Used to have a souffle pancake shop along this row but now no more.

  4. If this is a "dead zone" then props must be given to The Ship to have lasted so long. Perhaps the rent here is cheaper, so that's why new restaurants are willing to give it a go.
