I Want Bread. Help!

Today I had a sudden craving for carbs. Especially bread. And specifically Focaccia bread. Arrghhh.....

So I had to drown out all that noise. The best way to do it is with meat. Lots of meat.

So I made my way to Sheung Wan Noodle House.

Where I noted that they had replaced their big laminated menu with this small one for their Set Lunch.

And a proper booklet menu for their main dishes and beverages.

With very nice photos.

I flipped and flipped and flipped. Eh, where is my favorite?

Ah! Found! So as predicted, I ordered the Beef Brisket & Beef Tendon Pot.

And their Hong Kong Coffee - iced, no sugar, no milk. But the staff made a mistake. I took a sip and alamak! so sweet! So I had to call out to them to give me the correct order, which they replaced in no time.

Their coffee is very good. Very kaw without the strong bitter taste. My favorite Kopi O in the neighborhood. By the way, did you notice that the glass is in the shape of a skull?

My simmering pot of beefy goodness was served with fire coming out fiercely from under the pot. Takut, eh!

The lady boss (back from HK) took my order and confirmed "big one?" Yes, big one hah..hah... This madam accepts nothing other than big. The portion size is indeed generous - loads of tender brisket, tendon and radish. I was satiated after this meal.

At the payment counter I saw this faux giant gold ingot.

And the God of Prosperity beamed at me from above.

Outside was this abundantly fruiting lime plant.

As I walked away from the restaurant, I came upon this.

Carbs!!!

Tempted? No!

Because I was full of this. Praise the Lord!

  1. Good evening! I just had roast duck drumstick rice for dinner (deboned) inspired by you hah hah. It was really good. Skull shaped cup like not so auspicious. You can resist not having carbs I salute you. The beef meal looks very satisfying. No wonder you have to say PTL.
