Edward's Urban Fish & Chips, Damansara Utama

Finally, I made it to Edward's Urban Fish & Chips.

The first thing I noticed when I stepped inside was this.

Because I almost tripped. I do wish that when people do their renovation, they could avoid this kind of pitfall. This is a safety hazard.

Nowadays I am very observant about these things ever since having to assist my mum during outings. The aged tend to trip easily on uneven surfaces.  So be careful especially when you have an elderly with you.

Now on with the menu.

It is short and compact. I just zoomed in on the Fish 'N' Chips. Since I may not be coming here often, I went big - the Premium Fish Types - Barramundi, Classic. And a Cold Brew Coffee (Black).

The seating is cosy.

I sat over at this side.

You order and pay at the counter.

Cold Brew Coffee.

It was all right. I prefer the taste of regular coffee which I find more aromatic and robust.

My fish & chips was served by a girl (not in uniform) with a sour scowl on her face. She simply plonked my order at the far side of the table instead of putting it in front of me. I wonder why. Did I offend her?

The look on her face could easily turn fresh milk into yogurt in seconds. It's like she hasn't been paid wages for a few months.

Anyway.

Battered fish, fries, a lemon wedge and three types of sauces served on a wooden board.

The batter was light and crispy. Not oily at all with a light seasoning. The fish was very flaky and I had to eat with a spoon because it crumbled when I cut into it.

The dipping sauces - from left to right - I am guessing a remoulade, tartar sauce (this I am very sure) and Thai sweet chili coriander sauce. All three I love.

The fries were pretty good, crispy and well salted. But you get very little of it.

I would say it was very good fish & chips, pricey with small portions but no regrets (except for the service with a scowl).

  1. Good morning Mdm PH the girl was born with a RBF lah (resting bitch face) not her fault please forgive her lol. Or maybe she had a bad start to the day due to have not gotten her pay and she still has a family to feed.

  4. When I saw your photo, the first thing that came to mind was also the fries seem a bit little. I think fish being extremely flaky is probably due to the type of fish we choose...but then good choices for fish & chips tend to be flaky usually. I've experienced that before with halibut where I had to pick it up with a spoon too...maybe we're not used to overly flaky fish...lol. But barramundi, halibut, cod, haddock, etc are considered good choices for fish & chips. P/S: I hate it when places have uneven floors too...it's a hazard I've experienced before.

    1. Ah, so flaky is good. My partner told me that cod is the best but I can't imagine the price!
