After lunch I went to check the concourse of The Starling.
The Hari Raya bazaar was up and running.
I remember this Mew Market from Chinese New Year.
These stalls are selling decorations, trinkets, snacks, clothing and accessories.
There was also this Trigona Stingless Bee Honey.
Then this display caught my eye.
In very beautiful packaging.
I did not check the pricing.
They also have these hampers which are a butter cookies lover's dream gift.
Then I came upon these apparel selling at RM99 a piece. Nope, I wouldn't pay RM99.00 for a shirt. I can go to Hanam BBQ for a nice meal at this price. Hah!
Selamat pagi! I went to my neighborhood supermarkets to have a look at the hari raya snacks they are selling. Apparently a little similar to our Chinese new year they also have snacks and goodies such as sambal tapioca. What's different is that they do sell dates. I saw the packaging with the tagline have a date with us, haha so appropriate and creative. I have yet to visit the hari raya Bazaar at Joo Chiat, not sure if I have the time. By the way, with you mentioning mew market in this post and your photos, it seems like Malays have a special liking for cats.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, with so many temptations around we have to assess what are needs and what are wants. The Chinese saying of 衣食住行 meaning clothes food shelter and transport/travel which do you think are the most important? I think the first three are important except transport/travel which is not as important if we need to compare and assess.
Selamat pagi! Yes, your observation is corrent - Malays love cats!
DeleteFor me, food and shelter are the most important.
Thanks for sharing the photos and bringing us a walk around this hari raya Bazaar. Terima kasih! Have a good day ahead to you and me :)
ReplyDeleteYour Malay is not bad :) You have a good day ahead too!
DeleteThank you! I only know the basics so don't come and test me lol !
Deletehah..hah.. don't worry, no exam!
DeleteNever went to any Hari Raya bazaar...coz nothing to buy. Not even the food bazaar this year....I was very "kuai", so no curi-curi makan. I think last I went twice...this year the weather is much too hot to walk to the bazaar even in the evenings! >.<
ReplyDeleteI had nothing to buy either, just kepoh2 only LOL! Oh, no food bazaar for you, well good for you then. Those bazaars present too many temptations.
DeleteI have seen these pretty tins of butter cookies at Aeon Supermarket but I didn't buy them.
ReplyDeleteEver since I broke my tooth I have been eating very little cookies and biscuits which is a good thing.
Oh, I must have missed those butter cookies at Aeon. Well, it's good not to eat cookies and biscuits hee..hee..
