Yan Wo Seafood Restaurant, Aman Suria Damansara

Last Saturday, on our way out from the nursing home, my brother asked me if we should go to Kar Hiong or some place else.

I told him that I was open to anything. So my brother said, OK, we go elsewhere - your blog like very stale already lah, he joked hah...hah...hah...

And there we were at Yan Wo Seafood Restaurant, Aman Suria Damansara

It's a typical Chinese restaurant just like Kar Hiong. We noticed there was a box of Premiere tissue on every table.

And more on the table behind mum's seat hah..hah...

As usual, we must have our chili, garlic and soy sauce ready before the dishes were served.

After looking through the menu, these were the dishes we ordered.

My brother was keen on this Thai Style Braised Pork Knuckle (S - RM58.00).  The pork knuckle was braised in aromatic spices until tender and falling off the bone. It was meaty and fatty and enjoyed all around though it was not my favorite.

This was my choice, Siakap Deep Fried in Tiga Rasa (RM48.00). The fish was fried until even the bones were crispy. The kitchen was very generous with the sweet, salty and spicy sauce. Very appetizing!

For vegetables we had this Claypot Water Spinach with Dried Shrimps (S - RM20.00) - a fancy name for kangkung belacan. What was interesting was there was a generous sprinkling of pork cracklings (chee yau char) in this dish.

Another dish was Belacan Green Bean (S - RM26.00) (because another veggie we wanted was not available) which had generous sambal and pork cracklings. These people love their pork cracklings and so do we hee...hee...

So that was our four dishes. We enjoyed our first visit to Yan Wo Seafood Restaurant. The cooking is good and portion sizes were generous.

Prices are reasonable and this lunch cost RM163.00 [no service charge and no service tax, inclusive of one pot of tea (RM6.00) and two rice (RM5.00)].

While we were there we realized that our table didn't have a lazy Susan. LOL! So we took note that next time we must seat at a table with that contraption to make it easier for eveyone to easily reach the dishes on the table.

A revisit is imminent!
