I have had many pastries (and sourdough breads) here and I will say that they make excellent pastries (the regular items on their menu) especially croissants.
There are still many naughty bites that I have yet to post hee..hee... Since I am now putting a (temporary) stop to carbohydrate consumption, the only thing I can eat at Halla Holla is egg. I have eaten just eggs here before.
One Saturday morning, I wanted to have coffee (and a bite). So on my way to my brother's house, I made a pit stop at Halla Holla. I can see that they are quite popular at breakfast time.
Ah..... I love their Latte! There is nothing as invigorating as a hot cup of coffee to start your day.
I ordered a soft boiled egg which is a hardboiled egg with soft center. One egg was sufficient as I wasn't that hungry.
Another Saturday some weeks later I was very hungry because I skipped dinner the evening before.
I saw these delightful breads and pastries when I went to pay for my brekkie. There is a new item on the menu - Peanut Mexico, which are the croissants that you see up there with brown peanut topping.
Later at the nursing home, I saw that they have added 3 (regular) wheelchairs. The big one on the left (which I saw when I went to view the home in 2023) can go up and down the stairs.
Now eggs are my main source of protein. Orangey egg yolks should taste very nice 👍 😋
ReplyDeleteMy grandma aged well but she is now 108 years old so she has to use a wheelchair afterbher hip replacement surgery after falling off the bed in her sleep and broken her hip.
That's good! Eggs are very nutritious.
DeleteGood morning! I am having my aromatic cup of coffee with million dollar scenery with birds chirping and flying in the woods. What an enjoyable brekkie you had. Just coffee and two eggs are good enough. I cannot go without eggs be it breakfast or lunch as I love the taste and they are my source of Vitamin D too. Wheelchairs that can go up and down stairs are very practical cos not all places have lifts and slopes. How you know the big one on the left is the one?
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Wow how I wish I could have coffee in such beautiful surroundings as yours! I knew about the big wheelchair because my brother and I were given a demo of how it can climb up and down the stairs when we went to view the facility.
DeleteI will not be able to eat just soft-boiled eggs if confronted with the smell and sight of glorious pastries & bread at their counter. I agree...there's nothing as invigorating as a cup or glass of coffee to start off the day! ;)
ReplyDeleteAh! Eggs and coffee with a slice (or two) of buttered toast is heavenly. LOL!
DeleteI'm not a coffee drinker, so as long as I had my breakfast, I will be invigorated. ^__^
ReplyDeletehah..hah...good!
