TuTu has been gone some 10 months today. So I thought I would write a post in memory of my late sweet kittie.
Apparently, Girl sat at the side of the drain and she kept looking at my neighbor's son and then back at the drain. She kept doing that to alert my neighbor's son.
She kept at it again and again until his curiosity was piqued and he took a look in the drain.
That was how TuTu was found. Your orange cat is very clever, my neighbor remarked.
Well, I wished that my cats could talk. Maybe they saw what happened to TuTu. What happened was fated and I have stopped wondering how she died.
At one point I even blamed myself. Had I fed them later in the day (as I usually do), maybe this incident may have been avoided.
Of course that was a silly thought. The accident could have happened at any time, I could not have predicted or prevented it.
TuTu is gone but never forgotten. My partner believes that she may have moved on to a better life. I hope so too.
Good morning! I marvel at how fast you healed your sadness and how calm you were. I like that tutu is gentle, sweet and demure but it was fate that she had to leave earlier. Great that you have good neighbours. You are right, cats/animals can be very intelligent if you observe them closely.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! My partner helped me be positive. He said it was time for TuTu to be reincarnated and that's why she was taken early. I am a Christian but I can accept the beliefs of other religions. My thought has always been God wanted TuTu to entertain the good souls in heaven!
DeleteGood morning! time does heal, but it depends on how long or how short it takes (not every individual is the same), once in a while we do feel tinge of sadness like you said. Good that you have your partner during the trying time. Let's move on and just rmb some of her cute antics so that it brings a smile and a chuckle to you/us. God bless! P/S great that we are being open minded with regards to religion. Life is difficult and a battle so let's make it easy and light hearted though some don't know how to appreciate jokes
DeleteGood morning! I have moved on and I respect all religions and view points.
DeleteNo no no, do not wish that your cats/animals can talk, that is the way they are different from humans and the reasons why humans adopt pets like cats/dogs/birdies etc, only we got the chance to speak, they will not talk back if you reprimand them hah hah.
ReplyDeleteTrue also lah. They will have ability to complain to me loudly - Ma! We want this we want that! LOL!
DeleteBeautiful post, one that |I can definitely relate to. I am 68 and have had cats most of my life, I totally get how we never totally get over the loss of a cat. Your photos are beautiful and this post is a great tribute.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. It takes a cat lover to understand another cat lover! Have a great day ahead!
DeleteBefore I click open your post, I saw photo 1 and thought you adopted a street kitten who looks exactly like Tutu. Ah, the photo is Tutu.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this tribute words for Tutu. She will be forever in our hearts.
Girl is such so clever to alert your neighbour's son.
I believe Tutu has a congenital heart failure so please don't blame yourself. You have given Tutu a very warm and loving home, a happy home. 🫂 💕
Thank you for your warm words. I wonder what made you believe that she had a congenital heart failure. I did observe that she was a lot more passive and slower than her two sisters.
DeleteBecause when they were all babies, you did observed and mentioned in your writings and photos that Tutu was the slowest and least active amongst them 3.
DeleteMy brother's rescued kittens also have one tiny kitten slower than the siblings and soon moved on quite young. So I believe they are born weak.
Last time, there was a small kitten in my street that was ran down by a car. Because the kitten is small, it just became road kill in the middle of the road. Won't end up in a drain. Therefore I don't believe that Tutu was hit by a car. If she was, she would be dead in the middle of the road just like the kitten I saw.
DeleteSeeing this post make me miss TuTu too. Girl's smart and was trying to tell someone that poor TuTu was in the drain. It was very kind of your neighbour to retrieve her from the drain. Allowing our cats to roam free (like I did with Cookie), we have to accept the fact that something may happen to them when they're outside. There's nothing we can do...we leave it to fate. I also always wonder what happened to my two other part time cats (if they were taken by someone or something more sinister has happened to them). If you ask me to guess, the fact that TuTu ended up in the drain, I'll probably say that she met with an accident (knocked down by a car). :'(
ReplyDeleteYeah .... I miss her too. I guessed the same as you, she was knocked down and ended up in the drain. My heart aches when I think of that. She has moved on and so have I. I shall continue to keep her in my heart.
