I had another round of tomato pork bone broth at Rice & Pot Empire but not the Ultimate Pork Indulgence.
Instead I opted for the Spanish Pork Belly (dunno really Spanish or not ๐) with add on of Prawn Dumplings and wanton. I also chose mi xian but specified only half portion.
Then it was off for my walk. I have not visited Red Kettle for a long time. They are perennially popular judging from the queue at lunch time.
It is very pricey and yet people are willing to fork out their high charges. I have stopped for a while. Maybe I will come here on my birthday. We'll see.
Elsewhere at the mall, there was this promotion on beds. Buy one King full set and free 2 Queen full set. So good, ah?
That is a clean and attractive mall. The beds...does sound like a great deal. I would give the free one to a friend or relative, as I wouldn't need that many beds, either. Your food looks very good, especially the minced beef omelet. ๐
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea to gift the extra bed to a fried or relative. Oh thanks, I love my minced beef omelette!
DeleteIt is the monsoon period now which is good to bring the heatwave/temp down. But not good for those traveling overseas (extreme climate changes)..Had my breakfast already. Next will be my brunch/lunch. Dinner no plans yet hee hee. Will find time to send you some photos. Muacks! Fighting.
ReplyDeleteMonsoon period but it is still so hot and dry! The other days it rained heavily but lasted for only 10 minutes. Haiz!
DeleteTime 9.00pm. Once again I love your tomato broth pork bellies, shrimp dumplings and wantons mee xian. Ahhhh, pork belly thinly sliced then cannot fully detect the fats but was it good to you? I was at Tiong Bahru Plaza, shopping mall just now, a lot of temptations at the mall but I told the promoters politely: "I have no need for this...", really coincidentally what you mentioned in your mall walk.
ReplyDeleteThe thinly sliced pork belly was good and still had some fats on them. That was a good response that you gave the promoters.
DeleteWoohoo! Tomorrow is Sunday weekend, will enjoy it kaw kaw. Already have plans for my Food and Beverage intake tmr. Breakfast will have dim sum (Steamed mushrooms chicken rice with shallots and spring onions, oh yes need to tell them non-spicy as at times they will add sambal into the rice). Brunch/lunch will have Porkie Benedict with carbs and cold/warm brewed coffee at The Coffeebean while reading book (I copycat you lol !). Dinner will give my mom a treat after a Public KTV session at Chinatown with her. Will not be doing much household chores as I already did my part during weekdays while I was WFH. Have a good Sunday!
ReplyDeleteOh wow your Sunday sounds very chill and well planned hah..hah... So fun to go karaoke with your mum. I had a very good Sunday too although I did some chores.
DeleteI also haven't been to Red Kettle for quite some time now. Their prices are in the range of restaurants such as Din Tai Fung and Ben's which is in the higher range. Jalapeno sure add kick to your meal, I don't think I will be able to stand the spiciness.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Mun, on the Jalapeno. This dish does look delicious but Jalapeno is too hot and spicy for me.
DeleteMun : I decided that I will only go to Red Kettle and pay the premium prices on special occasions.
DeleteLinda : I find Jalapeno (maybe the variety that we get over here) moderately spicy and I can tolerate it quite well.
DeleteThat's good to know, thanks ๐ ๐
DeleteGood carb day with half noodles....that's what I practise too! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's great! I find that 1/2 portion is better for me now because I won't feel bloated.
DeleteYour "quote of the day" - I'm executing the second part, however the first part is really hard to practise, even though it sounds easy. :(
ReplyDeleteHah..hah... I know what you mean!
