Oohhh... roasted piglet! I remember having that at a wedding in 2016. Imagine tapau-ing that to bring home and eat. That's my fantasy.
There are braised dishes (referred to as "brine" in the menu) that are similar to what you can get at Teochew Lor or the kueh chiap shop.
The boss is from Hong Kong (I found out from a server) and he is very friendly and helpful. After looking through the menu, I ordered this Barbeque Platter (small).
As you can see, the portion size it is too small for me but since it was my first visit, I did not want to give them a heart attack.
In the plate were pork, duck and chicken and they were very tasty. The condiments were (from left to right) - plum sauce (too sweet for me), mustard and a garlic/ginger paste (I loved it!).
While I was there, more people walked in. The prices here are more premium but judging from the quality of the meat, it is justified. For drinks, I had hot Jasmine tea. It was too hot for me, so I requested for ice which the boss kindly obliged.
The flavors were good, I prefer this taste compared to what I have had at Teo Chew Lor and Penang Kimberley Duck Kuih Chiap (Kuan Kee).
My only complaint is that I do not appreciate the chicken feet, chicken (mid) wings and duck tongue (those things that look like tendrils). So it is best to order specific meat cuts which you prefer.
The next dish was the Barbeque Platter (what I had at lunch, medium).
I thought the Choy Sum was delicious, cooked just right to retain the freshness and crunchiness. That was a very satisfying datenite!

Attractive presentations in the large rectangular plates. Chicken wings and rice...yes, please ๐ ๐
