Saturday Brekkie

Saturday I worked. I still had a dark cloud sitting on my head because my (work) problems in December 2025 followed me into 2026.

I was hungry and decided to go for breakfast and perhaps a walk after that would clear my head.

At Halla Holla, my favorite seat was taken and I sat somewhere towards the back of the room.

The last time I was here, the ice latte was diluted. But I still ordered the same.

It was not as diluted and could use a bit more coffee (or less milk). I don't know why standards dropped. New (inexperienced) barista? Or cost cutting?

But it was not as bad as the last time.

Instead of a sandwich or pastries, I had eggs. I am glad that Halla Holla although a bakery cafe, offers eggs on their side menu.

I opted for two scrambled and two sunny side up eggs.

Runny yolks are the best and better still if you have a piece of toast to soak it up. Ooops! No carbs! LOL!

The scrambled eggs have been consistently good as well, fluffy and creamy. After filling my tummy, I decided to take a walk before going back to the office.

I haven't eaten durians in how long? Two? Three years?

I thought these were Chinese New Year goodies but they were actually dried herbs.

I had wanted to visit Sneaky Burgers, but somehow I never did.

I spotted Chinese New Year snack outside this chicken rice stall. While editing the photo, I noticed David behind the counter. I had his chicken rice back in 2024.

I still haven't visited Ah Niu.

This is a good datenite destination (if the food is good).

This is the shop (a laundrette next to Halla Holla) where I buy newspapers for mum. They also sell fruits and coconuts and snacks. I bet soon they will be selling Chinese New Year munchies.

Later at The Starling I saw this banner.

Year end got sale. Start of the year got sale. How to save money like that? hah...hah....

When I got back to the office, I managed to solve my problem but my troubles are not over yet. I shall not worry because that is not productive.

  2. The eggs are arranged into a nice pattern so that means the chef is a creative person who not only cooks but present the dish prettily 🌹 I would love to eat the eggs.
The yellow door of sneaky burgers doesn't make me want to open it to go inside.
Wishing you all the best in solving your work stuffs. Gambatte πŸ’ͺ

  3. It's either the person making the coffee has changed or the coffee got cut (as in less). Sometimes I think they underestimate our tastebuds and think we wouldn't detect the change...lol! If you're drinking the same coffee regularly, you'll definitely know if it's different.

    1. I am disappointed with the quality of their latte now that I am loving it! The best one is still at Red Kettle but at an extravagant price >.<

  4. I love both fried runny eggs and scrambled eggs. Once in a blue moon, I will have ice coffee. MSW (Musang King) is selling at S$8 per kg/per piece. Almost on par with Malaysia πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ pricing. Dear, I hope your mood turns better, after eating, having a walk and Blogging. Yes, that is what I tell myself whenever I am facing any problems, worry also no use, unless after you worry, you try to find a solution, and after all that is done, we leave it to our gods, if not what to do? What can we do? And I am glad you still retain your sense of humour in the midst of all these. Thanks for sharing. And I hope my comment will somehow make you feel positive.
