Recent Kar Hiong Lunches

Last Saturday we were again back at Kar Hiong for lunch.

Mum has (almost) recovered from her recent misadventure and was able to come along to the nursing home. So come lunch time, we were back at our regular haunt.

It was my turn to call the shots and I ordered this Crispy Pork Belly (L), although I shouldn't since this is flour coated and deep fried. But I love this dish.

This is the usual Honey Pepper Abalone Mushroom (M) which looked very similar to the crispy pork belly.

For vegetables, I chose Garlic Fried Sweet Potato Leaves (L). We love this vegetable and anything stir fried with garlic and salt is a winner.

This is one of our favorite fish dishes, the Dong Choi Steamed Carp. I enjoyed this a lot.

Meanwhile, I haven't posted one of our lunches many weeks ago.

This dish is not photogenic but it was yum yum - Yam with Kou Yuk. Oh! I love yam hee..hee... yup, carbs are so comforting. Haiz!

This Sambal Prawns (M) was not what I expected. It was just OK and I probably won't order this again.

Then we got this Fried French Beans with Mui Choy (L).

And another vegetable, the Belacan Pucuk Paku (L).

We love our meals at Kar Hiong as the cooking is good (although some dishes that we ordered in the past were not to our liking), the prices reasonable and access is easy (which is important for mum).

  1. The Dong Choi Steamed Carp looked the most appealing to me! I just went JB Malaysia yesterday.
