Carb Day #3 : Toastiful, Damansara Utama

There is this little gem of a cafe at a corner lot in Damansara Utama.

It is along the same row as Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee.

Located right at the far end of the shop lot (below Butik May).

It's Toastiful, where the coffee is wonderful and the cheese toasties terribly sinful. I actually noticed them even before they opened for business. What caught my eye was the word "coffee". Yes, I am a coffee addict and always on a lookout for coffee places.

I found myself at Toastiful on a carb day (hah!) and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into a warm crispy toastie.

The shop space is very small. It shares half the shop floor with a travel agency.

Seating space is limited.

And if you are eating in, you will have to contend with sitting on a barstool, not my favorite place to park my bum hah..hah...

You can sit and watch the world go by. Well, at least at this corner of Damansara Utama.

Right opposite the shop is Imazium, the annex to The Starling mall, which houses Standard Chartered Bank among others.

I got me a Latte.

Ah! There is nothing like an excellent cup of Latte to make my day!

And this my friends, is the Beef Pastrami, Pickle and Mustard Mayo Toastie.

Ooohhhh...la...la... served piping hot with loads of cheese oozing out of the toasted sourdough bread.

You are provided with a plastic glove and a serviette. The plastic glove is very practical to keep your hand clean because eating a sandwich can be a messy affair.

Look at that. The filling of beef pastrami and pickles with gloriously melting cheese.

I fell in love instantly .........

While savoring my delightful warm crunchy tasty toastie, I glanced next door where a couple were making travel arrangements. Haiz! When lah can I go on a cruise, eh?

Well, what a lovely toastie experience. I must come back for toasties and coffee again.

As with my customary protocol, I walk after consuming carbs. Must lower the glucose and insulin spike by way of physical activity.

I look forward to my next coffee and toastie hee..hee... Worth every step that I took.

  1. Good that you found this gem where you can enjoy your beefy cheesy sandwich and the coffee. Food makes us happy and boosts our mood. It is very thoughtful of them to provide the very practical plastic hand gloves. I miss Malaysia. Hope to plan for a trip to JB one of these days.

    1. It's nice to know that you like Malaysia :) Well, I hope you get to go to JB one of these days. When my family lived in JB many years ago, we used to cross over to Singapore to jalan-jalan.

  2. I would know the toastie is great just by the looks of it....a wonderful crust on the outside! ;) I see that it's made with a waffle-like maker...but RM24 for a sandwich seems a little on the high side to pay (and more than RM30 for a meal with coffee). Can you get full on what-I-think is a rather small serving for you...lol?

    1. Kris, how do you know the price when it is nowhere stated in the post? Just curious.

    3. Kris : Oh, the toastie is very filling due to the generous portion of cheese. I really love it!

  3. Usually I don't like barstool seats especially those which are higher than my legs, getting up to sit is ok but getting down looks so awkward and embarrassing for me lol !!
