Carb Day #2 : The Biggie

Big Breakfast. Hands up, who loves a Big Breakfast?

The Charcoal Grill, Damansara Utama (located opposite Texas Chicken) introduced their weekend Brunch Menu back in November 2024.

Currently due to Ramadan, the opening hours on Saturday and Sunday is 12:00pm (not 10:00am) so as to give their Muslim kitchen crew a break.

I had been wanting to try their brunch menu but my Saturdays were visitation days to the nursing home. Now that we no longer visit the home, I have the opportunity to have brunch at The Charcoal Grill.

I got there around 1:00pm and although the restaurant was in full swing, I managed to get a table. The other tables were occupied mostly by groups of diners.

My mission was The Biggie, their rendition of the Big Breakfast.

You can see the description here :

It was a very ample plate of food.

Sausage, mushrooms, two pieces of toast with butter, two sunny side up, a slice of roasted pumpkin, two rashers of bacon and tater tots (hidden under the pesky salad).

I loved everything on my plate and it was indeed very satisfying.

Suffice to say, I was very happy. What do we do after we eat?

Walk of course.

I went my usual route and I took this shot of the entrance to the other side of the garden. It looked like the gateway to the next dimension, errr... I meant the next wing of the building heh..heh...

I clocked up 12,000 steps (total before and after the meal) including my walk to Damansara Jaya and back.

  1. Good morning! Weather cooling and windy over at SG. Feeling kind of lazy and sleepy! Me me me! I love big breakfast too. What a hearty breakfast you have, and after your meal, you go for a walk admiring nature. That is a very good practice and it helps to boost our mood getting near to nature. This morning while I was walking after my breakfast I heard the birds chirping. It gives me feel good quotient and a peaceful feeling. Last Saturday I also had a so called big breakfast platter at Long John Silver's before my work. It consists of a chicken sausage patty, scrambled eggs, a hash brown, 2 french toasts and a big cup of black kopi. It was real good! Wishing you a good work day ahead! And shall I say have a "delicious" day ahead! Haha.

    1. Good morning! Oh, Long John Silver is still around in SG. I ate there once on a trip to SG long, long ago. Then they opened in Malaysia but did not last long :( Yesterday, after lunch I also went for a walk. I am enjoying this new routine very much. Wishing you a good work and delicious day ahead too!

  2. Ah, I love to eat big breakfast especially if it has real pork bacons so that my spouse can share the big breakfast as he doesn't like beef bacon or duck bacon or chicken bacon 😂
Ah I must make a special trip to starling mall to walk the two routes you have written about here because I am very curious about them now. Will walk both of them on the same day, hehehehe. 😀

    1. This breakfast has real pork bacon and pork sausage. Anything not pork is not bacon to me hah..hah..hah... Ya, you can walk both garden routes the same day as they are connected to each other and not far.

  3. I have both my hands up for Big Brekkie! ;) Who doesn't love one? :D Everything looks good except maybe the (rubberry-looking) sunny side up eggs and (haphazardly thrown together) salad. I think they need a bigger plate to serve that so that everything doesn't get piled up on one another.

    1. It is also easier to eat if the plate were bigger. The eggs luckily were not rubbery in spite of looking so hah..hah...
