I have had my fair share of souffle pancakes in this area - At the closed down Hotcake and the still standing SoyLab.
The main attraction here is obviously the Souffle Pancakes.
And a Signature Pancake - the Original Souffle Pancake with Ice Cream. The pancakes were accompanied by ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream and some chopped up chocolate and grapes.
There was also a serving of syrup which I did not use. The ice cream was ordinary, nothing exceptional. These fluffy pancakes with ice cream would have made any dessert lover happy.
But I was not excited. Blame that on my changed tastebuds.
This was the Cookies and Cream, I think. No, I did not enjoy the ice cream and fixins. Nothing wrong with the dessert, ok? It was me. My tastebuds have changed radically.
So you ask me, why then, did you come back? Again, I blame euphoric recall. I just had to try the marvelous desserts as I remember that desserts are awesome (which they are).
From my experience, when it comes to nice food which you like for the first time when you try out, the first and second time and taste would be the best, thereafter subsequently you will not enjoy it as much which is why we need a variety of choices.
ReplyDeleteTrue true, But in my case it is due to change in taste. Now I cannot even drink Starbucks ice blended drinks because they taste like chemicals >.<
DeleteAgree, I no longer enjoy soda drinks or aerated drinks anymore.
DeleteI see so many cartons of those sodas on display at the supermarket and I feel scared. LOL!
DeleteAh, the desserts do look good. Nowadays I prefer sour refreshing desserts such as pineapple drinks.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to try the pineapple coffee hee..hee...
DeleteI do enjoy desserts sometime but a souffle doesn't quite tempt me. I've never eaten a souffle like this one...somehow it looks kinda rubbery or spongy. The souffle I'm familiar with is the one I watch being cooked in cooking shows...the success of which is to see how much it rises up from the ramekin and not deflate when taken out of the oven...lol. We've seen many anxious contestants on cooking shows watching their souffles intently...haha.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the souffle that Gordon Ramsey says must be served within 90 seconds before it deflates! I have yet to eat that type of souffle.
DeleteFor someone who has sweet tooth like me, this souffle dessert certainly makes me drooling and actually I enjoyed it because I had it once, but......the price is a bit put off for my wallt. ~>_<~
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know these things are pricey. For special occasion is OK lah.
