I woke up late(r than usual) at 5:30 am because my sleep was disrupted due to firecrackers the bloody neighbors fired. Dang!
We visited dad at the home.
As we usually do, coffee is a must. All three of us had the Flat White. The coffee here is excellent.
These cookies were served with the coffee. My brother had one and when asked how was the cookie, he smiled. Mum and I did not have any and my brother did not touch our portion. So we know how the cookies were.
And now for the tapas.
Chili and Garlic Prawns. These were terrific and the bread soaked in the garlic oil is scrumptious. Yes, I had one piece of bread.
And now for the piece de resistance ....
The meat was well marinated and the accompanying sauce was so good. The well meaning server was not confident that we could finish a full rack. But we assured her that we were good, if we couldn't finish, we'll take the leftovers home.
That was not all. We were eating in full force and this last one was the Pigs in a Blanket from their Chinese New Year menu.
This is not the usual Pigs in a Blanket that we are used to. It was flavorful, bacon on anything is super good.
Mum did very well, she had 4 ribs on top of the other food that we shared.
Oh! Iberico Pork Cookies (made by Marta herself). He was curious about these cookies. Well, I'll have to ask him for his review hah..hah..
Mum was very happy with the lunch but she could not remember that she was here before in 2020.
Many thanks Mummy for the fabulous lunch!
Wow! The food looks so very good 😋🤤 yesterday we also had to queue for a time slot to visit the elderly. Many families were there visiting. I am also curious about the pork cookies - did they use butter of pork lard to bake these pork cookies?
ReplyDeleteHappy Chinese new year to you and your loved ones and all your furkids! 🎊
The food was excellent! I have yet to taste the cookies hee..hee... will update when I do. Happy Chinese New Year again!
DeleteI remembered you saying you wanted to try some tapas that I had but you still ended up ordering your usual tapas (and ribs)...lol! Since the cookies (that came with the coffee) failed, your brother had a lot of confidence in them to buy a box of cookies...cookies that are filled with Iberico pork (that's a first!). That might seem strange at first but then, on second thought, it can be interpreted as a kwai loh's version of siew pau...wakakakaka! :D P/S: You should ask your brother to take you to try Mercat Barcelona (Sri Hartamas & Mont Kiara is not that far apart...hehe).
ReplyDeletehah..hah... well, because mum was with us, I thought better to stick for the safe tried and tested tapas. Ah, yes, my brother told me today that the cookies had a porkie taste LOL! Not so popular lah but the cookies had a nice texture - crumbly and melt-in-your-mouth. Yes, I mentioned Mercat Barcelona to my brother and he is keen.
DeleteI had a rather pleasant experience at Marta's Kitchen and I think I should plan a revisit. :P
ReplyDeleteHmmm..... porky taste cookies, I can't imagine it.... >_<
I encourage you to revisit but don't buy the cookies.
