BINQ, Damansara Utama
There are many dessert cafes in Damansara Utama. A new one has opened its doors, BINQ.
I took a look at the menu and it appears that they specialize in Bingsu.
I have tried Bingsu, twice. But honestly, it's not quite the dessert that I prefer. But I know many people enjoy Bingsu.
This is a Middle Eastern influenced flavor. the Pistachio Kunafa.
There are many other flavors offered here.
If you want coffee after dessert, you can visit their neighbor, Zus Coffee. There is also a Zus Coffee at The Starling. I only tried their coffee once.
Well, all the best to BINQ!
I rarely patronize dessert shop because not a sweet tooth person. Once a while, I don't mind.
ReplyDeleteIf I am to choose I would go for soy bean oolong.
Only some desserts I like, so some I won't bother to try. My favorite is soy bean desserts.
DeleteGood early afternoon! The following comment kind of not related to your post here but related lah cos I saw a Fortune Cat here and it is related to my observation of my neighbourhood stray cats (since you are a pet lover of cats and doggies).
ReplyDeleteFood for thought. The big fat black cat living harmoniously and peacefully with the one single big fat pigeon near the massage parlor in my neighborhood. Sometimes the pigeon will go and eat the cat food which the cat did not finish and the cat also cannot be bothered to catch or kill the bird. As long as both their needs are satisfied, the cat also does not want to fight with pigeon, all it does is keep taking morning and afternoon naps. And they usually keep a safe distance from each other. That is what we humans should learn from them/animals.
Good morning! That is an interesting observation. We would think that the cat would kacau the pigeon. I love watching videos of cats living peacefully with dogs. They can be friends, that really warms my heart.
DeleteI had only tried Bingsu once and the experience was good, but none thereafter. I like the tagline of Zus Coffee, a necessity, not a luxury, so was Zus coffee a necessity or a luxury? Was it good since you tried once?
ReplyDeleteWell, the Zus Coffee that I tried, I requested for no sugar. But the staff did not understand that syrup is also sugar. The coffee was sweet and I did not enjoy it. I drank when I got back to the office or else I would have complained.
DeleteI've never wanted to try bingsu coz I know I won't like it (just like I don't like ais kacang)...first of all, it's milk-based and secondly, the shaved ice will have too much sugary syrup...yikes! >_<
ReplyDeleteOh, I also don't enjoy ais kacang although I love cendol. Yes, milky and sugary are not combos that I enjoy either.
DeleteI too love, love, love cendol!
DeleteI like bubur chacha, slurps!
DeleteSantan makes desserts taste good, just like bacon in savory dishes hee..hee...
DeleteI ate many bowls of bingsu from HanBing Bangsar branch but now that branch is closed and other branches are too far away. I prefer strawberry or mango bingsu with pieces of real fruits. I think I haven't eaten bingsu for one year now but I ate kakigori or other form of shaved ice desserts which is roughly the same. Maybe one day I will get to try this new bingsu. Thank you for the heads up. 👍 😊
ReplyDeleteHope you get to try BinQ and report back hee..hee...
DeleteChange is the only constance. Especially even much much faster after COVID. It reminds me of the song by Queen "Another one bites the dust".
ReplyDeleteAh! I like that song hee..hee..
DeleteHubby chose another Bingsu shop originated from Chiang Mai over Binq when he suggested to have dessert after one of our lunches 2 months ago.
ReplyDeleteI hope that the Bingsu was good.
