Dave's Deli, The Starling

Well, well. I did not expect that I would revisit Dave's Deli after my experience back in 2018 here and here.

The fact that they are still standing (after 6 years) made me wonder, why and how?

Last week, my brother mentioned that he ordered Dave Deli's roast chicken via food delivery and it was very good. Mum also attested that the chicken was delicious and she enjoyed the coleslaw. Hmmm... that got me curious.

So I had to verify. Dave's Deli is situated on level 1 of The Starling, right above Nando's

They are famous for their roast chicken but I was not convinced after my visit back in 2018.

Since I was there for the roast chicken, I ordered half chicken with two sides - coleslaw and roasted vegetables. I also ordered a Latte.

This Ong Lai Hawaiian Chicken looked good but since it was chicken breast, I was not keen.

You get water on the house which is good. Next time no need to order drinks hee..hee..hee..

Ah! My roasted half chicken with gravy, roasted vegetables and coleslaw. As you can see, the roasted vegetables comprise almost entirely of carrots.

Only one floret of broccoli, one piece of red pepper, two cherry tomatoes and two small pieces of onion. But at least the carrots and other veggies were tender.

Now, moment of truth. Yes, the chicken was good, moist and the skin was very tasty. I also liked the accompanying gravy. The coleslaw was also good.

As for the coffee, it was all right, not as good as coffee I have had elsewhere.

I was very forgetful and did not check my Grab app for the Dine-Out discount. The staff did not even mention anything.

At least the cashier at La Juiceria Superfoods alerted my brother last Saturday about the discount when we dined there. So I missed out on the 15% discount >.<

Well, the experience I had was a far cry from what it was 6 years ago. A major improvement. Would I come back? Sure, why not.

After the meal, as usual, I went to jalan-jalan

I stopped at Popular Bookstore and ended up buying this Luminarc glass lock container.

It is very useful for storing my bacteria, I mean my Lactobacillus Reuteri cultured dairy heh..heh...

It was very worth it because Luminarc products are very pricey. This one I paid RM26.00.

I might get another one. Even though I already have too many hah..hah..hah...
