Belacan Belacan

Last Saturday, my brother called the shots at Kar Hiong. I was only too happy to have him choose the dishes.

My brother is clearly smitten with the Paku Belacan. Kar Hiong does it so beautifully.

Mum and I are also fans.

Just this Paku Belacan with a warm plate of rice is enough for an enjoyable meal.

Since we all love belacan so much, my brother ordered another belacan veggie dish - Kangkung Belacan

Just like previous visits, we waited for quite a while for the proteins.

This is the Crispy Pork Belly which was very tasty. At first glance it looked very much like glazed cornflakes.

Last dish, my brother's favorite (now mine too), Dong Choi Steamed Carp.

The fish was fresh and they gave us a whole lot of toppings. That was a very good lunch!

I don't know what was going on with my stomach, I felt like I could eat more. Oh dear! The belacan dishes must have over stimulated my appetite LOL!

Well, I did go for a coffee and nyum nyum. That's in my next post!

  2. I love Kang kung belacan too! Not sure about Paku as from the look of it I don't think I had eaten that before. Are the crispy pork belly ok? Sometimes skeptical about ordering deep fried food as afraid that it maybe over fried until too hard to eat and not nice. Have a yummy and good day ahead!

    1. The crispy pork belly was very good, not hard at all. It was sweet and very crispy. I actually had a bad day today but all is good now. LOL!

    1. Well, I think both are very good, but I only focus on the fish and not the toppings. LOL!
