Food This Week

I was clearing my phone photo gallery when I came upon some photos of my last visit to  Seo Gung BBQ Korea in 2024.

I had the Kimchi Jigae set meal.

The Kimchi Jigae was wonderful. There were generous amounts of pork in the stew.

I have never liked Korean steamed eggs but this one changed my mind.

I do wish that kimchi was among the banchan. This was my last visit not because I had issues with this eatery, but because I was taking a break from eating carbohydrates. There will be future visits for sure.

My dinner that evening was steak, leftover minced beef and kimchi. And butter to up my fat intake.

This is my homecooked kimchi jigae that I ate earlier this week.

I was on my way to Damansara Jaya when I spotted the nearby nursery having an outing at the field behind The Starling

Lunch that day (after a 21 hour fast) was a mixed pork soup. I requested for no meatballs and no vegetables hah...hah...

Yesterday, I could not hold my fast, so I had lunch around noon. The restaurant was very quiet, not many customers. But the roast duck was juicy and tasty.

Ahhh.... the best Kopi C!

I could drink two mugs but I might not be able to sleep.

I passed by Puzzini Swedish Pizza. Hmmm... I must go check their menu.

At Popular Bookstore, I saw this Cute Vomiting Egg Yolk. How could something vomiting be cute?

Great toy for stress relief it seems.

Well, today is Valentine's Day.

Chi X Fitness at The Starling is having a Valentine's Day promo. Not exactly romantic but if you are looking to sign up, your partner gets 30 days free. Not bad, eh?

  2. Mixed emotions on this Valentine's Day. I will like to dedicate a romantic love song by King of Rock Mr Elvis Presley "Can't help falling in love" to you and your love ones.
    [Verse 1]
    Wise men say
    "Only fools rush in"
    But I can't help
    Falling in love with you

    [Verse 2]
    Shall I stay?
    Would it be a sin
    If I can't help
    Falling in love with you?
    [Chorus]
    Like a river flows
    Surely to the sea
    Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be

    [Verse 3]
    Take my hand
    Take my whole life, too
    For I can't help
    Falling in love with you

    1. Thank you, Libby for the song dedication and for taking the trouble to write down the lyrics! The song is playing in my head as it is a well known song.

  5. How can you survive 24 hours fast when you love food so much? I had yet to try Korean Steamed egg. I guess it must be on the sweet side which is why you do not like it previously.

    1. A few days before the fast, I ate well to keep up my nutrition and stabilize my blood sugar. That is why I can tahan the fast. I did not like Korean steamed egg because there was not much taste.
