Nando's Chicken
It was Wednesday. I was wondering what to eat. Then I was like, hey, I have not been to Nando's for ages!
Before that, I went to Jaya Grocer. They have stocked up on the Farm Fresh milk in glass bottles. But I had already bought the ones in the carton.
When you don't want something, they are everywhere. When you want to buy, they are nowhere to be found.
Then I went to Nando's. I always order the same thing - half chicken with sides or either coleslaw or chargrilled vegetables or both.
While waiting for my order, I looked through the dessert menu heh..heh...
Tempted? No, I wasn't.
And to think I used to bake muffins. Hah!
I didn't order coffee. Save money.
There you go. Half chicken (Lemon & Herb) with coleslaw.
I went to the back to get a bottle of sauce.
Garlic. It was not exactly garlicky but hot spicy. The chicken was good - very smokey. I should have gotten the chargrilled veggies instead coleslaw. But the coleslaw was nice.
Then I went to jalan-jalan.
The Hari Raya decorations are taking shape.
Not bad. More or less the same design layout as Christmas and Chinese New Year.
There will be further developments to the deco.
Right now half the concourse is taken up by this car show.
There will be Hari Raya goodies for sale soon.
Hah hah been years since I last went nando's. Our supermarkets are already selling festive hari raya snacks.
ReplyDeleteI saw festive snacks last Sunday while grocery shopping.
DeleteSo clever they just change to Malay style curtains and motifs for hari raya decorations but what has it got to do with a locomotive train? To "balik Kampong"? Lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, the train is for balik kampung, a common theme for festive season. But I no more balik kampung LOL!
DeleteI searched back my old posts. I had flame grilled chicken and for the sauce I chose lemon and herb. I had Med. Rice and char grilled vegetables for sides. Next time I will choose Med.rice and coleslaw for sides as I like coleslaw too.
ReplyDeleteSounds familiar because I tried the Med rice previously too.
DeleteAhhh kacang putih! (The last photo). I missed eating those kacang putih back in the good old days from roadside uncles who sold them.
ReplyDeleteIt has been many many years since I ate kacang puteh!
DeleteNow don't have strong teeth liao so can only eat putih kacang.
ReplyDeletehah..hah...
DeleteAh, Raya decors are up so fast in starling mall. Let me check out pavilion Bukit Jalil on Sunday which is today. Are the Raya decor up yet or not.
ReplyDeleteThey use the existing backdrop, so can do it very fast.
DeleteThe train looks very familiar, remembering seeing it during Christmas in Atrium, I think... sponsored by HSBC... or was it in Startling.. cham, I cannot remember! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was at Starling. Chinese New Year also the same train. LOL!
DeleteNando's chicken is getting smaller and smaller, quarter chicken no longer sufficient for me. :(
ReplyDeleteYes, very small. Half chicken also not enough. LOL!
DeleteAll the while I thought Nando's is from Portuguese until my boss told me it is from South Africa. He's a South Africa 'angmoh'
ReplyDeleteMe too, I thought it was from Portugal. Later I read an article and found that it is South African. Oh ya, you mentioned your (handsome? LOL!) boss in your blog post.
DeleteI like their Peri Peri sauce....but not the super spicy...just mild spicy is good enough.
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the sauce, but I am ok to take it.
Deletethe muslim will start fasting on this Friday, so now the big malls berlumba lumba with decoration to lure shoppers. By the time I return to the country (in March), I think I will see decorations in the airport too.
ReplyDeleteAh! Overseas job posting again. Ya, by March, all the deco will be out full force.
DeleteI also always order the same at Nando's....1/4 chicken with a side or two. If there isn't a new flavour I want to try, it's also the lemon & herb for me with a side of roasted veggies usually. P/S: I see the train is put into good use again.
ReplyDeleteOh ya, that train travelled through Christmas, Chinese New Year and soon, Hari Raya. LOL!
DeleteI'm wondering if the train will still be operating come Deepavali...LOL!
