Confessions 2024

Let's lighten things up. No more dark heavy topics (for now).

Muahahaha!!! I was going through my photo gallery and I found photos of my carbohydrate exploits (which I have not yet posted) at Halla Holla, Damansara Jaya in 2024.

I always enjoy their coffee. It may not be as powerful as Red Kettle's but still very good.

My favorite sandwich is the Egg and Mushroom Croissant Sandwich.

They are very generous with their egg filling.

This was from another day. So well behaved, eh? Two onsen eggs and coffee.

Loved the eggs.

Oppss.....

This is PBJ - Peanut Butter and Jelly. It was rather nostalgic. When I was a child, I loved peanut butter. I am sure I still do.

It went so well with coffee.

On the next visit I tried their Magic Wand. They were glazed with sugar and sprinkled with sesame seeds and seaweed.

Very crunchy but hardly any seaweed taste.

This was the RM16.00 deal - one pastry and coffee with a complimentary sourdough cookie.

I added a Double Berry Scone which was served with butter and jam. I can't say that I liked the scone. It was dry, hard and crumbly. The jam was way too sweet.

Their Almond Croissant is the best item to me.

I'm simply love the Almond Croissant. You must try it!

Ah... I was looking forward to trying the Sourdough Toast with French Butter. It was indeed a sourdough indulgence. Meant for two or more people I am sure heh...heh...

I love butter. Especially salted butter. Can't remember if this one is salted or unsalted.

These would also be great with cheese too.

Nyums! I love bread!

Oh, another thing I love at Halla Holla is the Broiche Cheesestick.

There is melted cheese in the soft bun. Arrghhh... so good!

Great with black coffee.

On this visit I had my favorite Almond Croissant and a Pistachio Diva. If I remember correctly, the Pistachio Diva had a chocolate filling.

Will I eat any of these again in 2025? I am a realistic person and I will allow myself some carb treats from time to time. But I have to be careful not to let it become a full blown carb binge.

Life is short. Eat (the naughty stuff) but within reason.

  3. Looks like you had one too many carb exploits (I see at least 8 here...lol!)...until you lost track to post...kekeke! :D That's why carbs are difficult to resist I say...especially bread which is everyone's weakness. I, too, have been naughty and having bread (and coffee) more regularly these days...a bit more than I probably should...haiz. P/S: Wow, that's a lot of sourdough to chew through! ;)

    1. LOL! I super love bread. Tsk! Tsk! It's all right to eat carbs, just don't go overboard and I know that you exercise restraint. I would happily chew loads of sourdough hah..hah..hah...

  4. Ahhhh...I can see the egg filling flowing out, I like it! Oops! You did it again! Reminds me of a song by Britney Spears "Oops! I did it again!". I loved peanut butter when I was a kid too, really very nostalgic but no more as it will get heaty for me. High five, I super love butter (whether salted or unsalted) especially when it comes with toast with the butter melting in your mouth slurps! Life is short, so eat well, sleep well and some extras dance well/sing well/blog well lol/journal well/blah blah blah and repeat!

  5. I bought once the Magic Wand and it was disappointing as it wasn't crunchy as I would have hoped. >_<
