30 Day Carnivore Challenge : Day #9

Today's lunch is an omelette made with three eggs and two leftover sausages.

No seasoning required except for pepper because the sausages were salty enough.

I ate lunch early, around 11:00am. Then at around 2:00pm I felt hungry. But no, I did not pop out of the office to look for things to eat. I was too lazy and I was afraid I would be tempted to eat you-know-what.

A few days ago, I went on my walkabout.

Restoran Wai Kei is operational. They sell chap fan.

I think they also have noodles and some other dishes as well.

Elsewhere at The Starling food court, it looks like COOOK has called it a day.

The booth has since been dismantled and the space is now occupied by tables and chairs. Another one bites the dust. Haiz!

Downstairs, the Mediterranean restaurant, Seppia & Polpo has opened for business.

It looks very posh.

I also snapped the menu in case anyone is interested.

I see my favorite Deep Fried Calamari

They also have tapas, soups and pastas.

Sorry this is blur.

There is a whole bunch of pizzas too.

Risotto - very sorry I don't like. I might be interested in the Braised Lamb Shank.

The only thing interesting is the desserts heh..heh... I doubt if I would drop in here.

Outside, this new restaurant - Singapore Teowchew Hawker has opened for a few months already.

I won't know if it is any good.

Now dinner.

As you can see, there are non-carnivore stuff on my plate. I had a double cheeseburger (with no bun) and I took the liberty of squeezing some mustard and ketchup on the burger. I also had bread and butter pickles.

Yes. Guilty as charged. I broke my rule on no condiments. But as I mentioned before, no need to get so anal about these things. I am prepared to relax things a bit when the situation calls for it.

I was careless when removing the burger patties from the packaging and one of them broke into two.

I placed a piece of cheddar cheese on one patty and stacked the broken one on top of it. As you can see, my 3 eggs are over fried hah..hah...

I enjoyed my dinner as the pickles, mustard and ketchup made my meal much more exciting. Carnivore can be quite dull.

  1. Oh! I was at Starling Mall today to discuss bereavement sales. I didn't realize COOOK had gulung tikar. Honestly their food is very good & pricey but they took forever to cooooook their dishes. Twice I had to wait like 45 minutes for my claypot Salted Fish Pork Belly rice. You can easily watch them cooking like a Dreamland kitchen scene.

I am surprised you could eat telur!!! Tomorrow you might add fries too. Wakakakaka

    1. I liked the food too and now that you mentioned it, ya lah, they memang slow in food prep. But worth the wait.

I can eat telur, since it is an animal product. No fries though hah..hah...

  3. Nice colours, your patties. No pickles for me, thank you. I always pulled them out of my Big Mac and threw them away.

    1. I used to dislike those pickles in MCD burgers too. But this one is nice.

  4. Haha, I see it took 9 days to break your resolve (only a little lah!) on this carnivore diet....with condiments of mustard, ketchup and pickles (what are bread and butter pickles by the way?) An all meat diet isn't easy to commit, not even for someone (like you) who likes to eat meat (worst for someone like me who eats only a little meat!). >_< Never mind the little rule break, you're still committed to being a carnivore...lol! ;D

    1. LOL! Burger patties without mustard, ketchup and pickles is so boring. The pickles (which are really good) are called as Bread and Butter Pickles. I wonder why too as what has bread and butter got to do with pickles? So I googled. Apparently there was a couple who were cucumber farmers who used their cucumber pickles to barter for staples such as bread and butter, so the name stuck. Interesting, eh?

  5. It takes a lot of discipline for this 30 days diet. I doubt whether I will be able to commit especially when I love veggie and fruits. I like your colourful burger patties.

    1. Yes, it can be quite a struggle but so far I am doing all right. I admit that having vegetables make the meal much more wholesome, but for the sake of my own research, I tahan. LOL!

    2. I agree with the no need to be so strict. I had to look up bread and butter pickles. Good that I learn something new. Thanks for all the photos. I felt like I have just been to uptown after reading your article. Thanks again.
