Today is officially the first day of my challenge. Yesterday was the kick off and interestingly, I was stuffed and satiated the whole day. I did not have to eat dinner.
This morning, after my workout (chewah!), I cooked my lunch to take to the office. Yesterday at Aeon, I picked up two packets of ground beef (total weight 400g) and made beef patties.
I added minced onion, soy sauce, one egg yolk and pepper to the beef and mixed everything up. Then I formed them into balls (total 20 balls) and placed them into two glasslock containers to be stored in the fridge.
So this morning, I simply scrambled three eggs and fried 6 beef patties. All this was done in a jiffy.
It does not look like much (in terms of quantity and looks). But three eggs and 6 small beef patties was plenty to keep me full. I ate lunch at about 1:00pm which meant that I fasted for almost 24 hours.
So what's for dinner?
To keep things simple, I simply used the premade beef balls and smashed them up in the frying pan. I did not even have to add any oil because the minced beef already had fat in it.
Once they were cooked, I threw in some spring onions (from my garden) and three beaten eggs.
The result, minced beef omelette.
So there you have it, my very simple dinner.
To be honest, I was very, very tempted to drizzle chili sauce on the omelette (my bad habit). But I refrained from doing so. It still tasted good. I am learning to appreciate the natural taste of food.
Update :
In the evening around 7:30pm I was hungry! I guess I did not eat enough for dinner.
So.
I smelled so much lembu and realized it came from Bandar Utama. This exciting aunty is busy cooking her special diet that has attracted so many eager followers from KL toTerengganu until Paris & London. Way to go girl! I wonder what exercise did you do? You don't have weights at home, so I suspect you carry your 2 cats up & down 50 times. Or chase your dahling around the whole house??
ReplyDeletewahahahaha!!! I hope you didn't smell lembu again this morning or babi this evening kah..kah..kah... Eh, I have dumbbells at home and I do weight training.
DeleteYour beef patties look good. No roughage? No fibre? Gotta watch out - I eat a lot of fruits to steer clear of constipation.
ReplyDeleteI will address that issue later heh..heh... everyone is so curious about pangsai issues LOL!
DeleteYes to the natural taste of food! Day 1 meals looks delicious! Yums! Suit me as well. Good start! πCarry on! Yay! ππͺπͺπͺ
ReplyDeleteYou are even more enthusiastic than me LOL!
DeleteSo I see you've consumed 6 eggs in one day already! >_< At that rate, you'll have to buy eggs by the trays and not boxes (one tray won't even last you for a week)....lol. I can imagine you buying trays of eggs like you're in the food business....hah..hah. Well, I actually don't mind eating steak and eggs (yummy) but don't think I can stomach it every day though. P/S: I read about someone who took this carnivore diet and it broke him after 3 days while another had intense diarrhea (contrary to belief that there'll be constipation without fibre, I guess it affects different people differently).
ReplyDeleteLOL! Well yes, my lahling buys us 30 eggs but I buy some extra, the pasture raised ones. I don't eat eggs everyday, so should be OK lah. The intense diarrhea is usually the case of someone not used to digesting more fats. I don't seem to have a problem maybe because I am used to eating fats. Ah well, let's see if I can last 30 days or will surrender hah..hah...
DeleteI think one of the difficulties to go on a particular diet is to think of the daily menu due to the limitation of food/ingredients, that's enough to make me crazy! Now I have to plan the menu for breakfast, bento food for Sam to bring to school for her recess time and dinner for weekdays, so tired..... ~>_<~
ReplyDeleteI actually find it simple on this diet. I just cook the meats or eggs. I spend less time in the kitchen.
DeleteHa, I've never heard of a carnivore challenge! Loads of meat-free goals, but not carnivore. Glad it's going well for you.
ReplyDeleteI love meat hah..hah... But honestly, I also love vegetables.
Deleteeggy and beefy.....yummmm! so, does this diet has any carbs? i mean include bread or pita...to make a wrap/sandwich kinda stuff....
ReplyDeleteNo, no carbs at all. It is practically almost zero carbs.
DeleteI like your home made beef balls and beef omelette. Yes, minced beef has lots of fat in it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! This is the first time that I made omelette with minced beef. Quite good especially when onions are added.
