30 Day Carnivore Challenge : Day #18

I had steaks again today. Yesterday evening I discovered that I had another piece of ribeye from Feast Market in the freezer.

So I took it to the fridge to defrost overnight together with a ribeye that I purchased from another source.

That up there is my partly eaten steak which I forgot to photograph before taking a few bites. Yup, I cooked the steak in the air fryer this morning to take to the office.

This is basically an experiment to see how steak travels to work hah..hah.... It's not too bad and had I eaten it earlier, the steak would have been still warm.

Back home, I cooked the better steak (again) in the air fryer. Since I had leftover beef salami, I chopped them up and scrambled them with two eggs.

Like I mentioned yesterday, I did not enjoy the taste of the salami. It had a chemical taste to me. I won't be buying anymore.

The cook I achieved this evening was so much better than the previous two attempts.

Perfectly medium rare and juicy.

Tastewise, of course this piece of ribeye is far superior to the ones from the "cheaper" source.

Tomorrow I shall eat something else.

  1. It is really good that steak can be cooked in the air fryer and taste good. Worth having an air fryer then.

    1. Yes, an air fryer is very useful. I am now using it more frequently.

  2. We always cook chicken in the air fryer. Can save a lot of oil...especially now that it is so expensive. Good to use a lot less.

    1. Can! Pre-heat your air fryer to 200C. Meanwhile rub some oil on both side of the steak and season both sides. Once the air fryer is ready, put the steak in and time for 8 minutes. Turn after 4 minutes. And continue cooking. My steak was about 220g and one inch thick. So you may need to adjust accordingly. I might do a blog post on that.

  4. Good that you've nailed the cooking of steaks in an airfryer since steak is something you eat very often on a carnivore diet. Your steak that had a few bites (before photographing) sounds like you're taking this carnivore diet literally....and eating like a caveman (or cavewoman in your case)...LOLOL! This carnivore diet I'm sure I can't be on as I cannot afford to eat steaks like you since they're so expensive (and cheaper ones won't get our approval...hehe).

  5. You know what! Feast Market is located at the same industrial area where I'm working. I'll find one day to visit their retail shop.
