Naughty #7 : Bak Kut Teh @ Restoran Yu Yiee

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was eyeing this uncle while having chicken rice the other day.

This apparently is Famous Claypot Bak Kut Teh.

Famous as in self-proclaimed famous or famous true to form?

So one day I walked up to the uncle and ordered the Bak Kut Teh with rice and tofu puff (RM20.00).

The uncle asked me if I wanted just lean meat, trotters or mixed? So I opted for mixed and I also confirmed that I eat stomach.

So there you are, my Bak Kut Teh. I was very eager to taste and see if this was something to recommend to my brother (since we are looking for good BKT).

One sip of the soup and my hopes crashed. The broth was very mild and thin. The meat was all right, of course too little for me.

I guess the search for good BKT is still on. I know there is a BKT place in SS 2 but parking there is hell and not suitable to bring mum along.

On my walk back to the office, I came across this kitty and I stopped to say hello.

It was so friendly and walked right up to me where I gave it a head rub. Kittie Kat's boyfriend (the one who knocked her up) looks something like this one.

It is very rare that I can get a good shot of Ah Boi.

Because he is black, I need natural light to shine on him to get a clear photo (where he does not appear as a black lump).

Yeah, Ah Boi is like chocolate cake, which similarly needs good lighting to look good in photos.

As you can see, he is fascinated by this plant. As is Poodie.

This poor plant has been disturbed many times.

The smaller plant has died. I have replanted it many times but you know lah what happened.

Haiz ....

Ah Boi and Poodie are best of friends.

  1. Oh well you need to go to SS2!! They rented a huge corner lot on ground floor and claimed to be the first BKT in the country. They must be good!! Your brother drops you and mum before heading to the durian stalls hub behind to park. Lunch time no one eats durians and huge parking available la.

🤣🤣🤣 I like that chocolate cake pose.

  2. Aha! You managed to get a very good photo of Ah Boi with him standing up and looking upwards with the one hand in the air! Yay! 🥳 🎉 Nowadays most bkt are not strong in herb taste as they want to cater to the masses who may not like strong herb taste. Is pao xiang bkt still in 1u? Their herb taste is strong but I have read online otherwise so I guess it depends maybe.

    1. I think Pao Xiang is still there. One day I must go and try it before recommending to my brother.

  3. I see we're not finished with your once a week naughty eats this month yet...hah..hah. Lol...I guess no famous BKT need to have the word "famous" in its name, they would be famous by the name of their shop itself. P/S: The black and white cat looks very garang in the first photo. Your kitties are stepping all over your plants and destroying them! :O
