Last Saturday at Kar Hiong we tried another new dish. And we reordered a dish that we had just two days before.
It was as good as the first time we had it (on Wednesday, first day of Hari Raya). It's the combination of kicap manis and lime juice that made this dish so tasty.
I couldn't detect the taste of shrimp paste and although this dish did not blow us away, it did not disappoint either.
Ah Boi stalking Poodie. I am glad that they enjoy frolicking in my (messy) garden.
your jungle-like garden is the perfect place for playing hide-and-seek. The dishes look good, i wouldn't mind going there every week!
ReplyDeleteThat's why we never get tired eating at Kar Hiong every Saturday. There are lots mre dishes that we haven't explored.
DeleteKar Hiong , Kar Hiong , when can I visit Kar Hiong ? Hehehe, the dishes look good. 👍 will be very delicious 😋🤤 when eaten with rice 🍚 yums yummy!
ReplyDeletehah..hah... one day I hope you can visit Kar Hiong.
DeleteAh, so joyful to see ah Boi, tutu, and poodie playing happily in your garden. Just like the little children playing happily in the giant's garden.😻❤️
ReplyDeleteI am the giant. LOL!
DeleteYou are grand mamma 😻
DeleteLOL!
DeleteI can understand why you like the Indonesian fried fish as it's the sweet & sour profile that you like. The kicap manis must be quite sweet to need lime juice to balance the dish.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the sweet and sour profile that made the fried fish so appetizing. My mum ate one whole lime with the fish and she said that really enhanced the taste even further LOL!
DeleteClaypot Pork Slices with Shrimp Paste seem like pair well with rice. Boss tambah nasi!
ReplyDeletehah..hah... in the good old days I would have tambah nasi!
