I was pumped up because Hari Raya was just two days away and I was looking forward to my project - washing my house curtains and assembling my new rebounder.
As I got into the middle of my second rep of squats, I felt a pop and a sharp pain. Oh no! I hurt my back! I stopped my exercise immediately to attend to the injury by applying a cold gel pack.
As with these injuries, it cannot resolve immediately. At best, you can only minimize the pain and prevent further damage. I went to work and as usual I took my usual walk to Damansara Jaya to bring lunch and newspapers to mum. My back was fine while walking. It only hurts when I sit too long.
After the visit, it was back to the office. My back got progressively worse (not from walking but) due to long periods of sitting down. When I got home, after settling my cats, I did the cold pack treatment again.
I took a day off work the next day to rest. So this was lunch for the day.
After lunch I repeated the cold pack treatment (one session already done in the morning). Since this was a very filling lunch, I had a small portion of soup for dinner. Before I went to bed, I did another treatment session.
They were very meaty and fatty. I was so satiated that I did not need dinner but I did have some yogurt as a snack.

Goodness! I could imagine the back pain you suffered. Over the years I would rely on my pure essential oils that would guarantee to remove any pain and minor sickness like sore throat or coughs. One day I accidentally shut my car's door with my index finger's tip caught in between. I was in tears and my finger turned dark blue black with throbbing pain. I simply grabbed lavender oil just to rub and calm the horrible pain. I was shocked that after rubbing often with lavender oil, the pain disappeared along with the swelling blue black that night.
ReplyDeleteWhen cats are still kittens they always pose well and photogenic even inside the dustbins. 😂😂😂😂
I wonder if this (magical) lavender oil will work on my fingers (that has been in pain for a while...some kind of trigger finger, I think, and I don't wish to get a surgical procedure). Care to share the name/brand.
DeleteTM : I once got my index finger squashed on a faulty seat of a chair. I screamed in pain and my finger was number for about a month! Too bad I did not know about using essential oils as a balm. You are right, kittens look cute anywhere they are!
DeleteKris : I also want to know about the lavender oil. Hope you can resolve the finger pain.
DeleteMe too, I have joint pain on my fingers... not severe but good to be massaged every now and then... I would like to know what type of essential oil ... spicy also better... hahaa...
DeleteHope your back pain is on the mend. Those little kitties running around your garden will ensure your plants are well fertilised....haha! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, my back is about 90% healed as of this morning. Fertilizer? Oh dear, I hope they don't simply pee and poo in my garden LOL!
DeleteEWEW: I am using Young Living Oils for many years and blogged about it once. You can buy cheaper tru Shoppee or Lazada. Must rub the spot like every hour the whole day. Good luck 😍😍😍
DeleteTM: Thanks for sharing. I will look for it on Shopee...and *fingers crossed* it'll rid me of my finger pain (hopefully).

Ya, Lady. PH pun sedih atas pergolakan di sana. Rakyat biasa kedua-dua pihak merana. Harapan semoga keamanan boleh dicapai.
DeletePray 🙏 that your back pain is gone now after 3 days of rest and cold pack home treatment. 🙏
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am now 90% recovered and it is much less painful now.
DeleteAh, looking at your photos of ahboi, tutu and poodie playing in your garden happily reminds me of the story of the giant and happy children playing in his garden.
ReplyDeletehah..hah.. They play chasing and hiding and jumping all over the garden!
DeleteMy back pain will come back each time I carry too heavy stuff on one side... such as carrying the laundry basket on one hand going up the stairs to dry.... nowadays I go two times, cannot be too lazy anymore... doc said lumber 5 not very good already due to degeneration of bones... or whatever that is...
ReplyDeleteSo you have this problem too! Yes, must not carry heavy things. I also avoid that especially flower pots. Now I roll them instead of lifting.
DeleteI hope you back is getting better now.
ReplyDeleteIt is much better, thanks!
