Sorry. No Carbs Again.

Monday (yesterday). Holiday. Yay! Since I was at home, I ate meat. I know, I could easily Grabfood some carbs but I wanted another day away from carbs.

Don't worry, I have another 4 days of carb fest to do, so I want to stay carnivore for another day.

Look. Aren't those beauties? Two pieces of pork shoulder loin that I picked up from Hank's @ The Starling on Saturday.

Cooked in the air fryer of course. I lost the photo of the raw pork loins in the air fryer. The meat was marinated in light soy sauce.

I started with 6 minutes at 200C.

I flipped the pork loins.

The bottom side was obviously still raw.

Another 6 minutes at 200C.

I flipped the meat again.

Just for short time, 2 minutes at 200C because the insides are still raw.

Done!

Of course I did not eat both chunks of meat in one sitting. I kept one for dinner.

It was so good. No condiments required.

This was at Aeon on Sunday. I was looking for Christmas trees at the grocery section.

Then I spotted these Chinese New Year (CNY) plants.

These are coming out rather early, aren't they?

Perhaps to give you an early start to your CNY decorations.

Oh ya, I better do my spring cleaning soon. Yikes!

Sorry there is a one day lag in my post updates due to Sunday's unfortunate weather conditions. Tomorrow you will see carbs. Hah!

  1. No, it's not early. End of this week, it will be December already and Christmas and New Year will be here in no time at all...and Chinese New Year is just round the corner, a couple of weeks after that! My! My! How time flies!!!
Gee!!! You certainly make good use of your air fryer. We do use ours too...but I guess not that much.

  2. Oh, your post reminds me about a similar dish. Pork steak! Your air fryer does sound very handy. Only the cleaning of it frightened me so I am scared to buy it for his cooking as I am too lazy to clean it.

    1. LOL! Make him clean it hee..hee.. The air fryer basket is easy to clean. It is the top part - the heating element and the area around it that is difficult.

  3. I just hopped over from Mun blog, and she was also raving on pork loin. Lol.

Lovely loin you picked. Make pork chop from it also not bad. I haven't try air fryer with pork yet.

  5. Christmas is not even here yet and CNY cookies are already on sale. Just when I wanted to buy air fryer, a friend discouraged me from buying. Now I am back to square one.....Still cannot make up my mind whether to buy or not. Every time I visit your blog, I wish I have bought one. Sighhhh...

    1. I wonder why your friend discouraged you. If you decide to buy, get a smaller model which is just nice for two persons. My earlier small one could fit two chicken thighs.

  6. I think I never cook pork loin in AF like you did, is the meat became tough and hard after being air fried? I want to get another 2 or 3 those long bamboo to teman my existing lonely bamboo at home. LOL

    1. The pork so far is very moist and juicy. Don't overcook it.
