EMCO Day #8 : Girl! Where Is Mommy's Phone??!!

Pet owners. Do you do that? Ask your cat or dog where is your phone? There are five locations in my house where my phone usually is - the living room, the dining room, the kitchen, the study room or the bedroom.

Sometimes I cannot find the phone in any of these locations and I holler - Girl!! Where is mommy's phone??!!

Of course she hasn't got a clue. Then I have to go hunting because each location has sub-locations like if it is the living room, the phone could be on the coffee table, the sofa, the TV cabinet, the side table etc. There was one time when I even used my landline to call the phone when I simply could not locate it. Haiz...

So what's cooking? Today I cooked my favorite.

Kimchi Jigae! It was TM's post that triggered this kimchi jigae craving and I just had to fulfill it.

I enjoyed my lunch to the max!

My garden and flowers are doing extra well due to the gardener paying attention everyday.

I have been cooped up at home for 38 days (and counting) now and inevitably this thing had to happen :

Wahahahaha!!!

I shared this with a friend on whatsapp and she shared her indulgence in return.

She tells me that the peach strudel is to die for.

And then this. She said friends must get fat together.

Alamak. Food..food..food...

I shall resist the temptation and spend more time in the garden instead.

  2. My hp is on silent so I couldn't find it by using landline to call it. Have to wait for it to walk out by itself. In the end, where did u find your hp? Lovely hibiscus. I have been buying lots of food that I couldn't finish and sharing them with my friends. Yummy donuts! Thanks for sharing those food. I think I will buy the peach strudel because I think I will like it. Thanks again.

  4. I recently received a treat from one of my nieces...she ordered Korean stew delivery for us, one with beef & kimchi (kimchi-jjigae?) and one with seafood & tofu (sundubu jjigae?). Unfortunately, she didn't realise our family don't like Korean stews (my spouse doesn't like Korean food at all other than their grilled meat). Not only was it something we don't like to eat, it also wasn't very good. We couldn't muster all our strength to finish it and ended up discarding most of it...it was really difficult to eat as the taste of the kimchi stew wasn't great and the seafood wasn't very fresh. But we thanked her kind gesture to send us this food nonetheless. Glad you enjoyed your kimchi-jjigae! ;) P/S: And glad that I don't get attracted to sweet things!

    2. kris : Such a wonderful niece you have! Food and taste is subjective and that is why my mum told me she never exchange home cooked food with our neighbors. What is delicious to us may taste awful to others. So when our neighbors gift us food, my mum returns chocolate to them hee..hee...

    3. PH: Ya, we can't always know what our family and friends (even neighbours) like to or do not like to eat. But I would still continue with gifting food to people dear to me coz it's the thought that counts (like what my niece was kind enough to do). No matter if they end up discarding the food they don't like, it's no biggie.

To the kepochi above (who derives gratification from penning rude comments on other people's comments):

First of all, why delete your comment? If you have the balls (figuratively, of course) to write what you write, have the balls to leave the comment there. Deleting your comment only affirms the fact that your twisted intention is only to rile the person the comment was intended for (to instigate a reply) but dare not leave it there for the world to see your true personality (which many already know).

Anyway, thanks for your concern that it'll break my niece's heart (if she reads my comment here about not liking the food she sent me and discarding it). You don't have to worry your pretty little head over it. Let me worry how my niece would feel about the situation, after all....she's my niece...not yours! And since you were guessing that my niece does not read my blog, I'm guessing your husband doesn't read yours either.

  5. My wife carries 3 mobile phones, so she definitely misplaced her phones all the time. She would borrow my phone to call her phones and still no response. In the end, I had to locate them at her relative's place or her office. I am not sure whether it is woman's issues. LOLOL

I love all your flowers. I will try to look at my flowers outside and see if anything is worthy to share. I have no luck with hibiscus flowers as I don't get the full afternoon sun which is most needed.

    2. Many people do not realize that they are discriminating against women gender by making remarks such as this. This is an example of a sexist remark. As women, we have to speak up and educate these people who are not aware.

They do not use their brains and think that these remarks that belittle women are okay. Women that think these remarks are okay are not helping in waking up these people either.

      Definition from:

      https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/sexist

A sexist is someone who discriminates on the basis of gender. Sexist people and laws are unfair. Like racist and homophobic, this word refers to a type of hatred or discrimination: in this case, on the basis of gender. Usually, sexist people and laws discriminate against women.

    4. Hey TM,

I'm a woman with my own opinion and I don't need anyone to stand up or speak up for me here. I do not find your comment sexist, belittling or discriminating against women. I know what a funny person you can be and I, fortunately, could see the humour in your comment. P/S: I too misplace my phone sometimes and I have to use my landline to call my handphone to locate it! ;D

  6. Laughing it off with lolol doesn't make it any less belittling women. U dishonour your parents especially your mother who is a woman by making remarks like this. Also dishonour your wife. Wasted education.

  7. Dear Phong Hong, I must apologize for borrowing your comment section to stand up for all women here. It is time people realize that these general seemingly harmless playful remarks at the heart of it belittle women in general. I will be kutuk for sure but I have a strong principle on this so I must voice out.

Once I was at a wedding dinner of my friend's wedding. Seated at the same table is this very elderly man who made a similar belittling remark about women. He said women will always be inferior to men in everything that they do. I told him that his remark is not a fact and belittles women. Everyone else at the table remains silent, afraid to stand up for women. It is because of this, people don't realize that their seemingly harmless playful remarks are actually harmful to women because other people choose to keep quiet.

    1. Dear mun, while I appreciate your passion in defending women, what I do not appreciate is the use of my blog to "kutuk" other people who comment on my blog.

I welcome your comments, those that are relevant or incidental to my post. I hope that you respect my wish.
