I have not been cooking anything fancy lately. My mood for cooking has been somewhat flagging and when that happens I always fall back on the easy stuff.
I used it to cook kimchi jigae but using store bought kimchi. It did not taste as good as the one cooked using homemade kimchi.
I want to eat more soups and revisit some exciting soups I cooked in the past like Sop Buntut and Mushroom and Barley Soup.
homecooked soup is always the best! there's so much ingredients in your soups!
ReplyDeleteMore ingredients, more puas!
DeleteYet to go and get the sourdough bread here to try, so lazy to go out! Your bagels look good! What's inside? Ham?
ReplyDeleteThe sandwich filling is made up of beef salami, cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes. And I used Kewpie sandwich spread. And not forgetting mustard and chili sauce. LOL!
DeleteWish I could be lazy and simply cook whatever I fancy. But with 3 growing kids, it is hard. But someday a simple instant noodle or spaghetti would do. Depends on this mummy's mood and that day schedule. Lol.
ReplyDeletehah..hah...ya, with kids you need to come up with something nutritious and interesting. If not, they don't want to eat. LOL!
DeleteYour mushrooms and barley soup looks really delicious! Your bone broth looks full of collagen goodness! So nutritious! How are you feeling? All better after your jab 2? Have a good week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI am very much recovered, thank you!
DeleteAt first I thought those were donuts, hee hee. Homecooked soups are always so comforting and I saw tofu in your soups, my favourite!
ReplyDeletehah..hah..they look like donuts with a hole in the center. I also love tofu, it is one of my must have ingredients in soup.
DeleteI know. I know. Everyone's mood is flagging and food has become tasteless to me everyday. That's why I started to shake all the crystals in my house and swing them kesana kesini. Suddenly my mood came back and I even went to paint a whole new creative wall for our new place.
ReplyDeleteI saw your bagels and sop buntut. My eyes went bigger than my buntut. I want to eat them tomorrow as it has been years I missed them la.
LOL! At least your humor is still very much intact! For the first time in my life, I can't wait to go back to office hahahahaha!!!
DeleteLove the look of all of those veggies in your soup. Where did you get your sourdough bagels from? They look good.
ReplyDeleteThe sourdough bagels were purchased online from Bengbeng Sourdough, all the way from Kota Bahru, Kelantan!
DeleteI can see you have a good collection of pots, pans and woks, how many you have actually? Do you count before?
ReplyDeleteNow that you asked me, I am wondering too. LOL! Maybe I can do a post on that :)
DeleteI'm also getting cooking fatigue from almost 2 months of MCO and now resorts to cooking very simple dishes (so no need to show lah...hehe), tapau or order from Sally's Kitchen. I love having soups too coz they're easy to make but since running out of my stash of choi yin kai, I don't make them anymore. That's because my chicken vendor at the wet market is not allowed to open and I'll have to wait for the market to reopen before I can stock up again. I took your suggestion to put black pepper into my Chinese-style soup and I have to say I liked it. ^_~
ReplyDeleteYou too, eh? Haiz.. I am eating soups the whole of this week and am thinking of cooking something else next week. Ah, glad to know that you liked black pepper in Chinese style soup!
DeleteSometimes I don't have appetite, I just eat bread the whole day, bread, eggs... no more liking on this or that type of food, whatever is easily obtainable, I just eat... Last time live to eat... now have to eat to live... hahahaa..
ReplyDeleteLOL! I can eat bread anytime because I love bread. Just put kaya or peanut butter or cheese also can!
DeleteI had never tried sourdough bagels yet. How does it taste like? Dan nampak macam best juga bila ianya jadi sandwich.
