I was very worried initially because I had yet to be called, in spite of having registered way back in February 2021. I know of (younger) people who registered much later and yet got their appointments first. Never mind lah, that is their rezeki.
I felt very left out because my parents, my brothers and my partner had already gotten their jabs. Jealousnya aku!
So I was very excited when I got the SMS message and promptly checked the MySejahtera app. My appointment was today 01-07-2021 at 9:30am at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
Of course I was very happy but yet apprehensive and nervous. Getting there is not a problem because my lahling accompanied me. I was not scared of the jab. Instead I was scared of being jakun. LOL!
Don't worry lah! Got people there to guide you what to do. That's what my lahling told me. But still. I was nervous.
I made sure to have a good breakfast. One slice of sourdough, fried eggs and baked beans. Must keep blood sugar level up so that I don't feel faint heh..heh.. This is not the time to be hypoglycemic.
My lahling and I have not been to Sunway Pyramid for a long, long time. We used to go there for the chicken buffet, dunno if that place still exist.
He is generally a very good navigator (except for that one time) and used Waze just to be on the safe side.
We arrived around 8:30am way ahead of my appointment. While looking for parking, we saw the long queue.
It was not too bad. The army personnel asked to see my appointment on the MySejahtera app and although I was early, I was allowed to sit at Lane 1 and wait.
Then it was my lane's turn to go inside. You have to show your MySejahtera profile first before entering. So make sure to update before you go for your appointment. Also remember to bring your IC.
Once inside the Convention Centre, I was given a consent form with a queue number attached. Just fill up name, IC number and indicate that I agree to receive the vaccine.
Then I was shown to another section.
This is where you wait for your number to be called. See that big screen up there? Every time a number moved it goes Ding Dong! and my heart also Ding Dong! It sort of reminded me of the stockbroker's office where you watch stock prices go up or down hah..hah..
Ding Dong! Ah! My number naik! So I got up and scrambled to the designated station where I was asked if I suffered from allergies and briefed on the side effects post-vaccination.
I asked what vaccine I would be given and I found out it was Pfizer. I was then asked to sign the consent form and proceeded to the next station.
This is where things moved really fast and I did not have the opportunity to take pictures of the vaccination booths. I was ushered into a booth and I got a very nice nurse. The jab was quick and practically painless. I couldn't help but remark "Eh, kejap jer dah! Tak sakit pun!". The nurse chuckled.
Then I was off to yet another station (the last one) for a 15 minute observation. While I was there a young chap approached me and asked me to download the Sunway Pals for Life app to get free parking (and some other perks).
When time was up, I exited the hall and my lahling was waiting for me outside. So we left, me feeling relieved and happy to finally get my jab!
As at the time of writing, I have not experienced any major side effects except for slight discomfort on the injection site and a bit of backache (may not be related to the jab). And oh, I also peed a lot hah..hah.. I also don't know if this is vaccine related or what. I will update this post should I experience any other side effects.
The appointment for my second dose has been fixed and I am waiting for confirmation of the time. I hope it is in the morning.
To those of you going for your vaccination, don't worry too much, all will be well, God willing. Good luck!
Congrats! Good that you get pfizer because that is the one with the highest efficacy. Rest well and order delivery, no need to cook la for this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I shall take your advice hee..hee..
DeleteSo nice! Me so old also not yet received sms... Ipoh here is very slow...
ReplyDeleteOh dear, there I was complaining that younger people were getting theirs first. I hope you get yours soon because the government is stepping up on the vaccination drive.
DeleteWah you're so brave. Let's hope everything is ok, no short term/ long term side effects. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks! As of today, no major side effects. Just a bit of tiredness.
DeleteIs that you in the queue? Why? You are so slim!!! I've been misled all these years by somebody - he said you are plus-sized like us too and I believed him. Hmmmmmm... That guy in blue your lahling? Also so slim leh!!!
ReplyDeleteSour dough! Available at a bakery here on Tuesdays only...and every week, I felt too lazy to go out and buy. Getting lazier and lazier to go out these days, just laze around in the house.
Hello. Neither me nor my partner is in the photos. The only part of me in the photo are my shoes. LOL!
DeleteI love sourdough bread and bought some more.
Oh? So that guy may be telling me the truth, after all, then. I thought that lady sitting there was you as you kept taking her photo. Wait a minute - can't possibly be you if you were taking the photos. Silly me! LOL!!!
DeleteCongratulation to you! You got vaccinated! I am someone who doesn't like needles and have been preparing myself to face the needle when its my turn.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you and Reanaclaire get vaccinated soon!
DeleteCongrats on finally getting your vaccination. The wait is worth it since you got Pfizer, lucky you. Then again, any protection is better than none since things seem to be getting from bad to worse...with the EMCO going into effect soon. Haiz, when will we see the light of day? This EMCO (if prolonged) is going to kill off the remaining struggling businesses with even more people losing their jobs. It's a sad scenario indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, it is depressing that our daily infections seem to be going up and EMCO has to be imposed. I feel sad too.
DeleteMacam kena 4d when got notification kan? Even best than hit jackpot. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI have sore arm after injection. Yes, the injection was painless. My side effect was sore arm, tired and thirsty.
hah..hah.. yes!
DeleteMy arm was sore yesterday but it is ok now. I am feeling tired today.
Congrats for getting your vaccination...i m still waiting for my 4d...LOL!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It will be soon I think since the vaccination drive is being speed up. Cases seem to be going up and up.
DeleteWait till your 2nd dose to feel the side effects....my 1st one was fine except for a sore arm but the 2nd dose I had fever, body ache for a night. All part and parcel of being vaccinated :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that's what I heard from those who had mild to no side effects on their first dose and then when they got their 2nd jab BOOM! All the side effects kicked in. So I shall brace myself for that. Thanks for sharing your experience!
DeleteCongratulations for getting cucuk at last. The whole waiting was so fast and short! Very efficient lah. I am sure your head felt lighter and happier to be SAFER now. That's how I felt. Your kasut is so sporty and very nice. It looks so similar to my Sketchers which I bought from London but less than RM100 (lelong price).
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I do feel a bit safer now though I know that vaccine can't protect 100%. I must still bungkus my face! My kasut I bought via Lazada and it was more expensive than your London Sketchers LOL!
DeleteGood to hear that your vaccination process was smooth and now waiting to get your second dose appointment. :)
