Covid-19 MCO : Day #20 (Broccoli and Leftovers)

It has been almost three weeks already and gah! I feel so sien  today staying at home. This coming from someone who loves to hangout in the house. Imagine how all the party animals are feeling. They must have gone bonkers weeks ago.

I am the perfect candidate for the stay-at-home-order but too much staying at home can take its toll. Not that I miss my office or my work (!!!) but I miss the freedom of going to the mall or taking a stroll or going out for a bite to eat. I miss seeing my brother and I owe him a birthday makan.

Today I continued eating the leftover fried chicken that I bought yesterday. I prefer fried chicken with coleslaw or salad but since I had a head of broccoli in the fridge, I might as well use it before it goes bad.

Hence the stir fried broccoli with bacon and garlic.

Yup I am enjoying my iced coffee although I must confess that I was kept awake last night because I made my coffee kaw kaw (for added oomph!) yesterday afternoon. So today, I used only one teaspoon of coffee heh..heh...

On Sunday, I threw out my back. To much gardening I reckon and I did carry some heavy flower pots. So for treatment, I used a cold gel pack, three times a day.

To do that, I have to lie down with the insulated gel pack placed under me for 15-20 minutes.

Guess who decided to join me in bed.

Eeee!! Geli girl! Stop licking Mommy's toes!

Today she did the same thing.

She even inspected my gel pack.

I pre-ordered lunch for tomorrow from Dahmakan.

Let's see how good it is. Will report back tomorrow!

  4. i miss reading about your meals with your brother too! they're always heartwarming to read :) i still have to work at home, so the days actually fly by quite quickly - it only feels like two weeks so far to me. and if we do get extended a further two weeks, we're only halfway through now!

    1. Oh! Nice of you to say so :) It's great that your work can be done at home. It looks like the extension might happen and my house will be sparkling clean by then hah..hah...

  5. Your cat gives you attention. Most cats just ignore people unless they're hungry.

Take it easy with your gardening, try no to fill too much soil in large pots, maybe ask your husband to move the pots for you. I always rub some herbal ointment ("minyak urut")whenever I get aches from gardening, it helps to relieve the some soreness.

    1. So far my cold compress treatment is helping a bit and I try not to strain myself. Just chilling out as my doctor once told me - don't be a good housewife (when having backache)!

  6. Fried chicken and broccoli looks good. These days, I don't carry heavy pots, I will roll them. Your cat is a very good companion. Stay safe.

  7. Cats are inquisitive in nature...they like to check on everything that's new to them. You're very trusting of your cat with your legs. I can't do that with Cookie coz sometimes he likes to bite my leg (they say it's a love bite but it startles me) or paw at them not knowing or realising that their nails/claws can be sharp sometimes.

    1. She mostly likes to bite my hand. Yes, they don't realize that they are hurting us. I have quite a bit of scratch scars on my right hand where she scratches and bites when in a playful mood.

  8. Love how manja Girl Girl is with you. Your broccoli looks tasty! Do be careful when carrying heavy things. Pulled muscles is bad enough. Slipped disc lagi teruk. Hope your strained muscles heal nicely.

    1. I am recovering, thanks! After experiencing a slipped disc once, I would not want to go through that ordeal again.

  11. My wife and I also had sour and aching backs. We didn't even carry any flower pots like you! It must be the bad postures of sitting and lazing for too many hours and too many days. Even an elephant and tortoise will get back ache.

If you ask the TCM, it's the posture and "angin" problems because you didn't swing enough. So you can ask your lahling to hit or punch your back a hundred times from top to bottom & repeat. After that use Yoko Yoko to rub your back.

You would feel so shiok and rejuvenated after that.

    1. LOL! My lahling believes in that "angin" stuff. He always blames the food I eat. I keep an open mind because there could be some truth in it though I am very sure it was due to too much gardening.
