Covid-19 MCO : Day #38 (MCO Salad)

It looks like we have to stay at home a lot little bit longer with the MCO going into the 4th phase from 29-04-2020 to 12-05-2020. In his speech yesterday evening, our PM hinted that the MCO may be further extended beyond Hari Raya. Haiz...

To celebrate finish up the little bits and pieces of vegetables that I had in the fridge before I re-stock, I decided to make a salad. What I had was broccoli, pineapple, tomatoes and green capsicum. Quite a weird combo.

I was so impressed with the char siew I ordered from TNR via Grabfood on day #36 that I simply had to have it again.

Since I was ordering char siew, I might as well get some siew yoke. Besides there was a 30% promo on orders RM25 and above (subject to maximum discount of RM8).

Ooohh...divine! Simply divine!

To make the dressing, I simply used the char siew sauce (which is awesome!) mixed with just one tablespoon of vinegar (ideally should use rice vinegar but I had none so I used red wine vinegar) and one clove of minced garlic and a generous pinch of black pepper. The char siew sauce already has oil and sweetness to it.

My funny but delicious salad.

Yummm...Yummmmm....YUMMMMMM......

Yesterday evening I made another batch of kerabu. My fatty kucing was very interested (as usual).

So I let her inspect it.

She got really up close and personal to it that I was worried.

In the end she decided it was not taxable.

Yeah...last night she jumped on the sofa. I thought I had succeeded in discouraging her by lining the seat with a green towel.

No it didn't work.

So I decided to kacau her.

She is so fat and fluffy.

She doesn't like to be called fat.

Adoi....she has reclaimed her spot.

Today her boyfriend came to visit again.

That's it for now. No dinner tonight as I am still full from lunch. I need  to eat less anyway. Have a nice weekend! Ooops... Everyday is weekend. heh..heh...

  1. Yea, I just posted in my Instagram mentioned that although it's Friday today, it makes no different now and nothing to anticipate on weekends :(

  2. I think your salad is delicious! Not funny nor weird but was the broccoli raw or lightly blanched? I can pineapple, tomatoes and green capsicum raw but not broccoli.

    1. The broccoli was microwaved. I also can't eat broccoli raw. The taste is awful.

  3. For me, weekends are still weekends because I work from home and there is a lot of work during weekdays. I think the government made the correct decision to extend and I hope they will extend it another 14 days to May 26.

    1. I reckon your wish might come true. I suspect the MCO will be further extended because it would be hard to contain movement during Hari Raya. So it is best that the government maintain the MCO until Hari Raya is over.

  4. The char siew looks lean which I like. I think I will need to find a good char siew place near my area to have a constant supply of delicious char siew like what you have found.

    1. The char siew was a mix of lean and fat. I won't eat char siew from anywhere else now. LOL!

  5. Once you have your smell on the long sofa, Girl Girl will sleep there because she loves your smell. Thanks for so many photos of her. So fluffy. Did she play with her visitor? I have given up taking photos of kitten because all the photos turned out the same - cannot see anything except the shape. lolx! :D

    1. I am not sure of the dynamic of my girl and the stray cat's relationship. LOL! Sometimes they just sit together peacefully and at other times he appears confrontational and she shies away from him. Since your kitten is black, she would only photograph well under natural light. That's my experience with chocolate cakes. LOL!

  6. ooo, a char siu salad - virtue and vice, married in one bowl :D tnr is out of my delivery zone, unfortunately, so don't tempt me! :D on the bright side, we're probably past the halfway mark for our stay-home enforcement at this point, even if it gets extended again! ;) hmmm, i wonder what it was about the kerabu that made it cat-inedible ...

    1. Well said "virtue and vice"! I think the chili and vegetable element is not so attractive to my cat.

  7. I will like the salad because got char siew, the oil and sweetness from it would be good enough. Not everyday is weekend because weekdays i WFH. Your salad looks delicious, colourful and beautiful.

    1. The salad was good, due to the char siew. LOL!

  8. It may be a weird combo according to you...but it's certainly the most colourful. Why is it weird? Because of the char siew (since the veggies are all suitable as a salad)? Think of the protein as replacement for roasted chicken...hehe! ;) Hmmm, it has taken you more than 3 years to finally try this divine char siew. Better late than never.

I think you'd prefer your cat to remain a fatty bom bom since you can't resist her fluffiness! :D Don't say I didn't warn you...that your cat would prefer to sit where you sit...hahaha! ;D

    1. I thought it was weird due to the combination of vegetables, not a typical mix in a salad. This is the best char siew I have ever eaten. I reckon I won't eat any other char siew from now on hah..hah...

Yes, I like her fat because it makes her cute but I am concerned about the effect on her health. So far she is coping all right with less snacks. I just give her very little, just enough to satisfy her munchie mood. Your were absolutely right! On the day I read your warning, that's when she jumped next to me. Haiz...

  9. Muahahahahahahaha!!! She would rather lick that part of her anatomy than eat your kerabu! ROTFLMAO!!!

  11. The saying of Curiousity Kills A Cat confirms your Fei Mau would sniff and inspect everything in her territory. My neighborhood stray cats peed in my garden and I had to spray Dettol to "kill" their smell of territory stake and invasions!

Your salad is always wonderful like magic by simply hentam anything in your reach! Then blow trumpet that it's yummy!! Muahahahaha 😍😍

I will start making "your salad" too! Your taste is well trusted. 🥗

    1. Salad bagi LL mesti ada protein. Kalau tidak, tak kenyang namanya.
