Covid-19 MCO : Day #28 (I Miss Eating Out!)

It has been 28 days already cooped up at home - cooking and also ordering in. It's great that we have Grabfood, Foodpanda, Dahmakan etc. but I do miss eating at the restaurant.

I have many photos in my phone of the food that I ate, which I meant to write about, but did not have the time/mood to do so. Since I have so much time now, come, let me show you what I miss...

Nasi kandar! I can't wait to have this again.

Wat Tan Hor. Gah! This is like my ultimate starchy carby indulgence.

Chee Yuk Fun. Thinking of this brings tears to my eyes!

Porky tomato soup noodles with all the piggy fixins.

The regular version. I miss this too.

Ah! This is from Pho Real@A Foodie's Nest which opened in February 2020. Poor things. Just started business and then the MCO happens.

This one is the spicy Vietnamese noodle. Pretty good.

This is the beef tendon set meal.

Heck I even miss Nando's (although I can order this via Grabfood).

Oh ya, I tried the tropical iced tea. Very refreshing but I found it too sweet for me.

This one is a joke gimmick.

Served barely warm. No, I do not miss this one.

Ramen! This is from RamenX@A Foodie's Nest. Opened  a few months earlier than Pho Real.

It was quite decent for a food court.

Thai food.

What else do I miss?

Soylab's lovely desserts.

Sigh....

And my favorite IlaoIlao frozen yogurt.

Today I "attended" a webinar. Have to keep up with my  CPE (continuing professional education) (and to prevent my brain from turning to mush from too much Netflix).

While I was listening to the webinar, somebody called out to me outside the room. So I had to layan my anak.

Now I know how you mothers feel.

    1. All those dishes you mentioned, I also miss. Nasi kerabu I can get quite a decent one via Grabfod. Maybe I should blog about it.

  2. OMG!! These photos also brought tears to my eyes. Woohoohoo. So cruel to post these real food pictures during the MCO.

I cried rivers of tears seeing that Wat Tan Hor!! Then I went hysterical to see that Chee Yuk Fun! Finally I saw my darling IlaoIlao and went suicidal mode. I need to talk to Befrienders now......

  3. Then I started to giggle to see the mummy cuddle Ah Girl. I have been fooled to imagine that you looked like Nenek Kebayan with a hair bun and sireh in your mouth. Muahahahaha.

So many of you aunty bloggers have no photos until I suspected some are male bloggers in disguise. Haiks!

I want to go into hiding mode too and remove all my photos now. It should be more exciting.

    1. Yes, you used to have lots of makan dates with your friends. Don't worry. Once MCO is over, you can resume your makan sessions again.

  9. i kinda miss nasi kandar too, but i've been getting a good nasi fix from raju's banana leaf rice at jalan gasing :) pho real's food looks real tasty - must check it out if i'm at the starling! :D i wonder whether restaurants will be crowded with folks keen to return to eating out next month, or whether they'll seem relatively empty cos most people remain cautious ...

    1. Well, lucky you! I am wondering too, some folks would remain cautious while the rest will just go for it!

  10. What!!...you make us drool by showing us all these photos! Luckily, I'm still able to have some of them...I just go out to tapau. The meal I had in the copper pot at Nando's was quite nice...but it looked different from the one you had. I think I have a lower tolerance for sweet stuff (since I don't eat much desserts) and so was surprised that you found the tropical tea sweet (again, the one I had looked different from yours). Then I read your description and realised that you actually tried the Tropical Iced Tea...not Tropical Fruitea! >_< P/S: Your anak is very manja lah...and mommy loves to manja her too! ;) Now that you've given us a glimpse of what you look like, I think TM will be stalking you in Uptown & Starling Mall...wuahahahaha! :D :D

    1. I must have mistaken tropical iced tea for tropical fruitea. Well, I can always go and try again once the MCO is over. hah..hah.. I don't think it will be that easy to spot me!

  11. C.EWEW you are absolutely correct. I will print out her photo and do a police job like photo-fit to match with various eyes and mouths before launch a manhunt at Starling. This Nenek wears selipar Jepun and Rolex watch too! Very wealthy lady!

    1. LOL! Apa Rolex? That watch I bought from Lazada for RM24.00.

  13. there are quite a number of chee yuk fen and nasi kandar on grab and food panda so you could order those. even if mco has completed, I don't know whether I dare to dine in or not because there may be asymptomatic people around that are infectious in the dining area. Until there is a vaccine, life won't be the same as before.

    1. We have to remain cautious even when MCO is lifted. Haiz...this virus has turned our lives upside down.

  14. Look at that wan tan hor! I miss eating out too, so troublesome to walk all the way to dabao the food and walk home with it again. Very tedious! I might be ordering foodpanda tmr again.

    1. Some food after tapau won't taste as good. When I get tired of won cooking, will order via Grabfood again.
