Covid-19 MCO : Day #29 (Sick of Cabbage)

Today I had only minimal cooking to do. There was some food in the freezer, rice included, and all I had to do was fry some cabbage. Ugh! I am sick of cabbage!

I like it with turmeric, Indian style.

I had it with rice and the Masala Chicken I cooked on day #17

Yesterday I fried the last piece of ikan parang. I won't be buying anymore of this fish.

I also fried some eggs.

No improvement there I'm afraid. Tsk!

I found some seedlings growing in my pandan pot. Are these Cleome seedlings? Sure looks like it.

I transplanted 4 seedlings into another pot. Hopefully they grow. Let me show you the Cleome that I had in my garden last year.

These were from seeds harvested earlier. The flowers produce many tiny seeds and I practically threw them everywhere hoping that some would germinate and grow.

These are so pretty, I love the sweet pastel pink.

For the past few evenings, my cat protested loudly when I refused to let her out. Sometimes she is OK sometimes she is not. Got angin this cat.

I just ignore her and I observed that she would sulk and go upstairs.

I think she doesn't like it downstairs because of the air conditioner.

I will find her sleeping right outside my bedroom door.

Likewise, she would not stay long in my study room because she finds it too cold.

Cat owners, question. Does you cat do this - asks to be let out and then shortly after wants to come back in again. Then 5-10 minutes later wants to go out and then in again and the process repeats. My cat does it and this behavior drives me nuts! Sometimes, when she is outside, I simply ignore her.

Please Girl, don't give Mommy so much stress.

  3. I am quite sick of eating cabbage too! I can never be sick of eating cauliflower and my wife thinks I am weird. I loved mixed vegetables and would pick out mostly the cauliflower when I am eating at buffet dinners. I love the Indian Curry with Carrots and Cauliflowers. Try it.

  4. I may not be a cat owner but I am qualified to be a Pussy Cat Consultant today. That's because I had the hand to care for my sister's international cats that came from London and Adelaide besides the prized Persian Grey which which was bred by the famous hairstylist Philippe Sum from Ipoh. Crazy people would buy cats from him at 5 figure prices!!

Your cat is absolutely normal and would be labelled as Street Cats type. It was probably abandoned if I am not mistaken and you cared for it at your luxury home with air conds, comfy sofas and clean polished flooring! I think your cat enjoyed the sofa and ready food the most besides all your loving cuddles & scratches. The cats have brains and good memories too. They are not like dogs which would wag its tails no matter what time the clock is showing. Cats are arrogant and least bothered about its surroundings. They are actually curious and playful when their mood swings are right. They like to perch up on high walls or shelves and observe the world go by for a few hours for their daily fix.

The cats prefer the right temperature that suits their needs. Winter is what they dreaded most hence their silly owners today would wrap them up with jackets and mufflers complete with boots. The pets can catch colds and have stomach disease often, so need to be cautious on their diet and the air they breathe.

You should fix a 'cat's door' at the bottom of your front or back door of the house. The cat will need this freedom to go in & out safely to suit their whims. My sister adores her cats too much until I have given up shaking my heads. She has a cat's door made even in a high rise condo. The balcony is converted into a jungle so that her cats could eat grass and smell flowers too besides enjoying the panoramic view of the million dollar homes below the balcony. She has so many corners, hideouts and shelves for her silly cats to sleep or hide.

She would plan her many holidays a year ahead so that I have to be free to serve her pussy cats like a butler. No cat hotels for her as she says her cats would be traumatized living outside and cannot use public toilets!!! They will suffer from constipation too. Muahahahahaha

You are on the road to be an obsessed Felinophile like my sister someday. You will find another partner for lonely Ah Girl. You cannot go on long holidays anymore! You have to hire me!! ~ Evil Laughs ~

    1. Thank you for your detailed explanation! Your sister really loves her cats! A pet door is ideal but I don't think I will install as there could be other cats or rats or even squirrels that might come into my house!

  5. You can do a cat door so she can goes in and out as she pleases, no need to ask you to open the door for her!

  7. I'm also sick of certain vegetables...coz there are limited choices now. Your eggs...no improvement? Looks fine to me unless you were attempting oozy egg yolks.

Cats are like that (humans probably too). When they're in, they want to go out...and when they're out, the want to come in. Cookie is used to going in and out when we open and close our doors...but he waits to be let out or in when we don't. He doesn't whine like your girl though. I suggest you work out a routine for her and let her get used to it...or simply ignore her whining. Or give her a 'time out' in her cage. After a while, she'll get the message. For me, personally, I wouldn't want to install a cat door...coz who knows what other 'stuff' will come through the door! >_<

Cookie is in air-conditioned environment all the time as we turn it on in the evenings in our living room. He also sleeps soundly with me in my air-conditioned room during my afternoon naps, if any...he has no problem with it. Hey, Ah Girl got so much 'blubber' she should be well 'insulated' from the cold...hahaha! :D

A cat is like a kid...treat them as such as I know you don't have much experience in this area. They need rules and a good reprimand if they're naughty...and don't manja too much-lah! Don't worry, like a kid, they'll always run back to mommy's arms even after they've been scolded...heehee! ^_~

    1. Many thanks again for your cat consult! I adore my cat but sometimes I do think what have I got myself in to! Yeah, fatty should be well insulated from the cold but she does not like it. Prefers to hang out upstairs or outside where it is so hot!
