Naughty #12 : Round Two. Ding! Ding! Ding!

I ventured out again to Restoran Wan Shoon to fulfil my wish to eat Mee Jawa again.

It was not even 10:00am yet when I got there and the place was almost filled to the brim (it being the eve of a public holiday and all). Luckily for me, there was a table close to the Mee Jawa stall.

Although it was not an ideal spot (very cramped and too close to the stalls) I immediately took it after placing my order. I  looked around me and I can see that this kopitiam is very lau juak unlike the one at the other end.

It was very warm and I started sweating.

I saw this curry laksa stall and perhaps one day I should give it a try.

I had the Kopi C Ais Kosong again. So good! It seemed to take forever for my Mee Jawa to be served.

I was afraid that they might have missed my order so I alerted the stall assistant (the guy in red above). I waited a bit more before my order finally arrived.

By this time I had already moved to another table as soon as it was vacated. I saw many more people making their way inside and a few were loitering around near me.

In fact the table in front of mine, occupied by two aunties were approached by three aunties, two of whom settled down (after exchanging pleasantries of course) on the seats before the other two vacated. LOL!

It was very unsettling to eat under such conditions. That plus the Mee Jawa lady had many orders to fulfill, the noodles that day did not taste as good as the first time.

Even the crackers looked and tasted different. So I was crestfallen by this experience. Never mind. That should discourage me from eating more carbs hah..hah..hah...

Or maybe my brother is right. When you eat something awesome, it won't be as awesome the second time around.

***Kitten Updates***

TuTu was feeling lonely because her two siblings were playing somewhere else.

Tuu.... why so sad?

This was Poodie complaining why she did not get any chicken. Meanwhile I released Kittie Kat from confinement earlier than planned (this morning). She was very happy of course and went to jalan-jalan with her kittens.

  1. Poodie, your mum completed her confinement so no more chicken treat for you until one fine day when your Grandma has extra to spend :)

  2. Your brother is definitely right. 2nd time most likely won't be as nice as the 1st time because of the high expectation. The coffee shop here during peak hours will have many different groups of strangers sharing the same table.

    1. I find it scary to go into the coffee shop when it is full of people!

  3. You can write very good and creative stories and publish a picture comic books of your furkids cos you are good at getting all their expressions on camera. Yay for Kittie Kat 🎉😁

  4. These kittens are quite expressive and know how to communicate well with grandma. Tutu's looks so kesian with that sad face....Kittie Kat does her parenting well, the first thing she did is to jalan jalan & spend time with her kittens after her release.

  5. What a happy cat family! Your brother is absolutely right! The silky, smooth and tasty ccf which I had at my neighbourhood food centre does not taste as yummy anymore after I ate it for umpteen times. The second and third time still ok, so we must have variety. Variety is the spice of life!

  6. I agree with you (and Libby) that somethings that taste awesome may not taste as awesome the second time round because of the expectation and familiarity? Then again, it might also be a consistency issue (especially when they're busy). There's this CKT place (our favourite CKT so far) but sometimes the taste can be a little less gratifying when the stall is super busy coz they will fry it a little less longer (I think) in order to cope/catch up with the orders, so it's missing a bit of that lovely charred taste.

    1. I think it might have been a case of the lady preparing the mee jawa in a hurry and me feeling stressed due to the crowd that spoiled the experience. I must go and eat there on a peaceful day. LOL!

  7. May I know the meaning of "lau juak"? I always avoid tables near the cooking place of the stall in Kopitiam as that area always very warm and certainly not an ideal place to dine. >_<

    1. "lau juak" is like always full of people. Agree, but sometimes no choice.
