Stuffed on Wesak Day

Wesak Day was last Wednesday and it coincided with our weekly visit to the nursing home.

Usually my brother and I will go outside to chill out and give our parents some privacy to talk. That is also the time when my brother has his cat therapy (when the cats are around).

You can tell that my brother is also a cat lover. That's him getting a good dose of sayang-sayang with Manja the resident cat. But Manja looked terrified hah..hah..hah... More on that in another post.

Since it was a public holiday, we took the opportunity to have lunch at Kar Hiong. Veggie of choice that day was the Bittergourd Fried with Eggs. It was just OK, no wok hei unlike what we have had elsewhere.

Our perennial favorite, the Honey Pepper Abalone Mushroom, was fabulous.

New dish of the week was the Stir Fried Tiger Prawns. My brother loved this dish.

This was my order, the Signature Pork Ribs

What can I say? It was ooohhh...la...la....

In the car, my brother complained that he was "too full" after the lunch. I felt that way too. So stuffed! So we agreed that the next visit, we will not order so much food. We'll see, eh?

***Kitten Updates***

Kittie Kat is enjoying life outside the cage. I don't lock her up anymore (at night) now that there is no possibility of her getting knocked up.

This is her mini-me posing like a boss.

This is for TuTu's fans. This girl will strike a pose whenever I point my phone at her.

This is Poodie trying to bully TuTu.

So she kena lecture by Ah Ma.

  2. I love bittergourd fried with eggs but the one you had looked kind of plain, no wonder you said it was only ok. Honey pepper abalone mushrooms and the signature pork ribs for me. The pork ribs look fleshy with more meat instead of bones. Same here, as age catches up, I cannot have too much in one meal if not I will feel bloated. Tutu, as cute as her name.

  4. Ai, how come you all are stuffed with 4 dishes? That's your standard order what - 4. When I saw the prawn dish (it looked like there were only 6 pcs), I thought this won't be enough for the 3 of you...but you end up stuffed. This is a sign that you're starting to eat less as you grow older (as we all do)...wakakakaka! :D I will have to refrain from both your pork ribs and prawn dishes as they're coated in some kind of sweet sauce. >.<

    1. There were three of us and the food usually is just nice but somehow that day we felt stuffed. Yes, we should do some walking after a heavy meal.

  6. Both you and your bro were stuffed but I see that the food portion was lesser if compared with any other days.... o.O
