30 Day Carnivore Challenge : Day #8

Today I ate only one meal - dinner. Yesterday's food was very dense and filling. I just was not hungry during the earlier part of the day.

I fried 3 eggs, heated up some Johnsonville smoked sausages and of course, yesterday's leftovers. The sausages were really good but they were on the salty side.

Yesterday at Aeon I saw many mooncake kiosks.

My partner gleefully teased me - ah! this year you are carnivore so I no need to buy mooncakes for you! Save money!

Yeah. Right. hah...hah....

Well, I don't want to eat mooncakes anymore. They are practically almost 100% sugar except for the salted egg yolks. I am not really crazy about mooncakes anyway.

These days (a long way from my childhood) we have variations like snow skin mooncakes and mooncakes with durian filling.

I have never tried these before as they are quite pricey. Mooncakes are very pricey in general unless if you buy those unbranded ones baked at old school bakeries.

Then I saw these very premium atas ones.

There was this big ass mooncake.

To gift to your big ass client hah...hah...hah.... Or your mother-in-law if this is your first year of marriage kih...kih...kih...

So my partner is right, he can save money and so can I from not consuming mooncakes.

This is what I enjoy for now.

  1. Nice photos of the supermarket. I haven't been there for a year now I think. I have only eaten snow skin mooncakes because I received them as gifts. As you are eating one meal per day, I think you may have triggered autophagy in your cells.

    1. I read/heard that autophagy only kicks in after a 2 or 3 day fast or something like that. I have to look it up. Maybe one day I can try a 1 day fast first LOL!

  2. The carnivore diet includes processed meat? nevertheless that plate of meat and sausages caught my attention! such a 'beauty' and much tastier than the mooncakes!

    1. Processed meat is allowed occasionally and must ensure that the meats do not contain sugar/carbs or very little of it.

  6. Mooncakes are very expensive and actually it is not worth paying so much for the mooncakes. I may buy 1 or 2 of mooncakes with nuts and they will not be branded ones.
