Covid-19 MCO : Day #32 (Roast Chicken)

Ah, roast chicken! I've got broccoli, carrots and potatoes and these were roasted together with the chicken in one pan. Easy, easy.

I bought the chicken from TTDI market via Grabmart a few days ago. Now I can get chicken easily without having to go all the way to Section 17 market. Yay!

My roasted chicken and vegetables turned out quite well. The broccoli was added during the last 20 minutes and the timing was about right.

Yesterday due to the disruption in water supply, I could not cook dinner. So sandwich it was. I was down to the last 3 slices of bread which I kept in the freezer.

Two hard boiled eggs and a slice of bak kwa heh..heh..(my stash from Chinese New Year).

One egg, did not bother to slice nicely, on one layer.

Next, the bak kwa on the egg.

Somebody was stalking my sandwich.

Eh, kesilapan teknik! Should put another slice of bread on the bak kwa first, the egg goes on top.

My sandwich tadaaaahhhh...

It was very nice heh..heh...

My cat wanted a piece of the action.

Oi! I already fed you!

Oh no, she wants bak kwa.

Aren't you supposed to eat cat food? Is bak kwa cat food?

I had no choice but to pinch off some bak kwa to share with her. After a few rounds, she was satisfied.

Last night my naughty cat was very noisy. She scratched my bedroom door and dug out one loose piece of parquet outside my room. I could hear her tossing it around and then I heard pling..pling...pling...pling... The piece of parquet dropped down the stairs.

Next morning. Found it downstairs. Haiz...

Yesterday afternoon when I opened the front door, I was confronted by this.

Adoi!! Macho cat playing with my slippers!

Oh! Lepak lepak with my girl, eh? Tsk! I did not chase him away, I just let them be.

Another wefie with Mommy.

  2. I don't understand why you couldn't work from home. is it because u need hardcopy papers and documents which are in the office? I thought everything is electronic now.

    1. I need the physical files (there are many!) and I can't access the office server from home.

    2. hhmmmm, your it people need to setup secure remote access to your office server in case stayathome is frequently required. physical files may need to be digitized too.

    3. Yup, that's something that I am considering.

  3. The TTDI market is a wet market where you got the fresh chicken thighs? They look a bit small though. Do you boil your potatoes first before roasting? Easier to get soft after boiling, right?

So I see you made a yummy double decker sandwich (or is that considered triple decker?). You still have bakwa from CNY? Adoi, pengsan...mine long gone already. Your girl smelled the bakwa, that's why she's so interested. Cookies loves bakwa too. Who doesn't? Hehe! ;) Girl's quite aggressive when it comes to food...climbing on your hand even (I can see her sharp claws digging into your flesh). If Cookie did that to me, I won't be able to tahan her claws.

Ooo, that macho cat must belong to one of your neighbours...coz he looks round and well fed too (but not as round as your girl-lah..heehee). Maybe that's why she keeps wanting to go out...she got secret rendezvous with her boyfriend! :D My neighbour's cat, when he's let out, he also comes calling for Cookie (but Cookie ignores his meows).

    1. Yup, that's a wet market. There are pork stalls at the basement but of course no Grabmart service lah hah...hah.... The size of the chicken legs is actually about the same as the ones I get from Section 17. This time I did not boil the potatoes. I usually boil them first as they would cook faster as you suggested.

My cat is very aggressive when trying to eat my food! She drew blood that day where her claw poked me! I have to be very careful.

My impression of the macho cat is that he is a stray. He actually lost a lot of weight, was of a better size previously. At one time he injured his right paw, possibly from a fight and was limping for a few days. I think my girl enjoys his company hah..hah... I guess they like socializing since your neighbor's cat calls out for Cookie (but Cookie tak layan).

  4. Oh Mother Mary!!! I am shocked that you always bought fresh chickens from Section 17! The distance from your house to TTDI Wet Market is half. You should use GrabTM and I will send you the chicken with biggest thighs. Those chickens that exercise weights in the gym.

Your bak Kwa in sandwich is very tempting and I love that. I still have 2 packets to go from the Wing Heong delivery. Some days you should swap with your cat la 🐈. She eats Bak Kwa and you eat Cat Food. Guarantee you will not die and you might like it. Pour some milk like Mun's style and bancuh.

Your porch is now attracting more cats. Try to put one dozen slippers outside! All the male suitors will propose to Ah Girl soon. 😂😂😂😂

    1. My partner prefers the Section 17 chicken lah. It s much fresher he said.

You are hilarious suggesting that I swap food with my kucing!

This is the only male cat that comes over. Previously there were two others who have since disappeared.
