Lockdown Day #51 : Oh BBQ I Miss You!

With the lockdown going on and on with no end in sight, I am starting to miss dining out more and more. I am tired of having food come in boxes or tubs.

There are some foods that I can't bring myself to order via delivery like ramen (garhhh!!! I miss Menya Musashi) or sushi (obviously because it tastes a lot better at the restaurant).

And then I saw Craf Roasters, Texan Style BBQ on The Yumlist, and that was it. I craved for BBQ!

I pre-ordered a day ahead and delivery is via GrabExpress. By 11:00am my tummy was already going krok..krok..krok... and my order arrived just before 11:45am.

The smoky BBQ smell was so good but I can't dive in yet. Must do the usual SOP for food bloggers.

Arrange nice nice and take photo. After I had a proper taste, I messaged my brother to share this with him.

I had earlier informed him that I ordered the Set A which is meant for 3 persons. Looking at the portions, I think me and my brother can polish it up easy.

The brisket was tender and not gamey at all. It was smoky and moist, I thought it was really good. The pulled lamb was a bit gamey, just a bit and was also moist and tender. I enjoyed it a lot. I did not expect the meatloaf to impress but oh my, it was very, very tasty. Thumbs up from me for the BBQ and meatloaf.

Two sauces are provided - BBQ and something which I guess is ranch dressing (from the taste). The meat were all so good on their own that I did not use much BBQ sauce. As for the ranch dressing, I liked it with the potatoes.

Now, this coleslaw I enjoyed very much. It is way better than most if not all the coleslaw that I have eaten from restaurants/deliveries. The portion was quite generous too.

Oh the roasted potatoes! This I loved a lot. It was simply wonderful. Nyums!!

As for the cornbread, these are like mini muffins, so fluffy and moist. I love this cornbread too.

I am no monster (heh..heh...) and this meal was eaten for lunch and dinner with some leftovers to spare for tomorrow's lunch.

When I was opening the containers, somebody came to kepoh-kepoh

Luckily Belle Belle was outside because that one I believe would have leapt up to the dinner table. Girl is more subtle (well, not really as she kept clawing at my thigh. Tsk!) and I gave her a small piece of brisket.

I put it in her bowl and she was very excited BUT she ended up not eating. Haiz... So I took the two pieces of brisket and fed them to Belle Belle who chomped them up in no time.

I was given a menu together with the delivery (with no mention of the BBQ sets).

That was a good meal that did not disappoint. Should that BBQ craving hit again, I know who to call.

  2. Wah, I think I will go order exactly what you ordered. Looks so good especially the potatoes. I think I will eat it for the whole week. Yums! Drooling now thinking about it. Girl must be thinking, oh no, cannot eat, must diet, better leave the brisket for that fei jie jie, let her be feimui instead, hehehehe. ๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜นSure enough that fei jie jie Belle Belle gobble the briskets all up. Nothing gone to waste, all very good! Singapore back to no dine in again. If Singapore cannot dine in, here I don't know when can dine in. Sweat betul! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

  5. We can dine in here. But we tried not to do that. The brisket, roasted potato looked yummy. Used to hate coleslaw as a kid but now I quite enjoy it

  6. When I first read about this place from The Yum List, I thought this had your name written all over it...and that you'd probably order this as the sets offered enough variety for one person....and lo & behold, you did...lol. I was looking at this with interest too but didn't want the pulled beef (thanks for confirming it's gamey) and didn't know what to expect from the meatloaf as it's something I don't usually eat (but thanks for reviewing that it's tasty). The prices look affordable, so I might want to try, we'll see.

Cookie is just like your girl, always excited when he smells I have food in hand but when I give it to him, he'll turn away too. These two jual mahal lah! :D P/S: I was wondering why your brother called you Cher (like Sonny & Cher), I thought it was his pet name for you....haha...only to realise that he meant sister as in "Cheh" or "Jie"! :P

    1. LOL! It was really calling me and I placed order almost immediately hah..hah... It's pulled lamb actually and only slightly gamey and I find it OK. I have tasted much smellier lamb. Lamb has that smell that it difficult to mask. I bet you will love the potatoes.

Girl is rather picky when it comes to food whereas Belle Belle eat practically anything. LOL yes, cher = cheh.

    2. Oops, sorry, typo error....I did mean pulled lamb. Those potatoes do look nicely charred as how I like it :) I think you'll probably want to try the roast chicken next? ^_~

    3. Yes, I am contemplating the chicken although it does not seem as exciting as the other proteins!

  7. This BBQ set order is just perfect with everything cooked and baked in the best standard to please you. Good to bring up your mood to enjoy dine-in at home. I miss dine-in at the restaurants so badly now and going insane.

  8. How much for this portion of BBQ set? I can see the beef brisket was quite a thick cut and the meat loaf was in good portion too, look at it fitted the whole compartment. :P
