I went to office today. It was thankfully very smooth and peaceful. I managed to catch up on my work and I am very pleased.
When I arrived, I noticed that there were many cars parked all along the shop lots. It looked like it was just another day pre-MCO. Prior to this, the place was almost deserted (when I passed by when going to Taman Megah to buy oink oink during the MCO).
After I had my lunch, I decided to go out to buy a few necessities from the pharmacy. When I stepped out of the office, all along the way to the shop, there were so many cars.
Some shops were still closed while others were open while the rest looked like they were getting ready to open another day (shutters half closed).
Right across this zebra crossing is Village Park. This place is always jam packed everyday. Of course it is different now. I am pretty sure they still do good business via delivery/pick up.
Annie-1 is open. I miss their wanton mee and curry mee.
Eh, Xing Fu Tang's signboard is not there anymore. What happened? Sudah tutup?
Look at the number of cars parked along the sidewalk. Does this look like MCO?
It was such a hot day too and I was sweating under my mask.
Ipoh Tuck Kee opened not too long before the MCO.
I heard that their wat tan hor is very good.
Then I went to The Starling because I needed to pick up some anti-bacterial handwash from Guardian. At the entrance to the mall, you will have your temperature taken.
The food court is open. I did not go in since I was not looking for food. Here, you will have your temperature taken again. I guess this is another new normal, having someone hold a beeping a "gun" to your head before you enter a building.
The other entrance is sealed.
Kakatoo is open. I observed that not all restaurants are open.
Then I saw something that almost brought tears to my eyes.
My favorite yogurt place is open! But no. I did not have the confidence to indulge at a time like this.
Popular Bookstore is open too.
Yup, temperature to be taken before entering. I wonder if those things do anything to your brain. Everywhere you go you kena zap.
Looking at the number of cars on the road and people walking around, I wonder if the government made the right decision to ease restrictions.
Anyway, I am glad I could get my work done and I feel less worried. I am hoping to wrap more stuff up and not come back until the MCO is lifted.
I missed my cat. When I got home today, she was at my neighbor's house but she jumped over when I called out to her.
Yesterday she did another Hindustan stunt.
This time instead of the flower pot, she hid behind the doorway. Can you see her boyfriend?
Peekaboo!
Both playing hard to get.
Haiz.....
I will be working again tomorrow. So I gotta go!
Oh, I miss your post. Thanks for writing. Thanks for Girl Girl photos. You keep your door open just for her to play with the bf? Or you always keep your door open? Is your neighbour cat friendly too? Just scared she may not like Girl Girl going over to her place.
ReplyDeleteI normally keep my door closed. I just kept it open to observe her and her boy2. My neighbor does not have a cat.
DeleteYa, why so many cars? Wah, like very syiok can go walk walk Uptown. So since you brought your own homecooked food for lunch, you didn't need to buy lunch at all. Now that village grocer at MyTown got people kena, I am still not going into malls yet.
ReplyDeletePeople are behaving as if teh MCO is lifted. Haiz... Hope the Covid-19 cases don't surge.
Deletelove the way you tell your story. Enlightening us who only stay at home and have not been going out during this MCO, so would not know what happened outside.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks :) Best to stay inside.
DeleteThank you for all the photos of Uptown! I miss going there for lunch! hehehehe! The soya shop I wonder is it open.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. I did not pass the soya shop. Even if they open, they can only sell soya milk.
DeleteI didn't know that cats are like humans too...they hide from 'people' they want to avoid...hahaha! :D Looks like your girl does not like this suitor of hers.
ReplyDeleteShe is playing hot and cold with him hah..hah..
DeleteSo kesian the mall, nobody. Glad to see that Ipoh Tuck Kee place still operating like during MCO, pays to be careful. Sarawak not following and some guy is saying that is illegal, cannot NOT follow. Pergi mampus aje lah!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it will take some time before business picks up again. My sentiments exactly, if the states choose to take the stricter route, why not?
DeleteYour cat and her Hindustani movie stun looks funny. I am glad you're feeling upbeat and doing are fine. Thanks for blogging daily. I really enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteSome people are so terrified by the media fearmongering that they're depress and too afraid to leave their homes.
I don't like going to shopping malls now - get zapped many times with temperature gun & its hard to breathe walking with a mask on.
Take care & be brave.

Rescued your comment from my spam folder. Lol!
DeleteWe cannot be too paranoid about the virus. Just take precautions. You stay safe and brave too!
I m still WFH. So I have yet got the chance to observe the streets surrounding. Most like business is back as usual like your area there too. Ur ah girl is trying to avoid that male cat. Just shut the door and don't give any damn hope to him la!
ReplyDeleteShe is like mau tak mau like that. The male cat does not come over as often anymore.
DeleteAnd read in news, Petaling been marked red zone again. Bet it will be if suddenly all open and everyone roam freely again. We over here in Sarawak still pratise the MCO with most businesses not open. If want to open, need to apply permit.
ReplyDeleteSarawak is doing the right thing, to be more conservative is better for the time being. Here it is as if MCO has been lifted.
DeleteIt was interesting to see your city in these strange times, looks empty in my opinion
ReplyDeleteQuite the opposite actually, lots of cars and people around.
DeleteI thought you would be busy and no update as i knew you went back to work on monday, happy to see and read your post. Wow the city is becoming lively with so many cars and people, wonder is it good or bad? Thanks for the photos and update of ah girl too, she is cute under your vivid description.
ReplyDeleteI feel it is too soon to allow so many businesses to open. I hope that there is no rise in cases due to teh relaxation of the MCO.
DeleteAll the best malaysia. Hope for quick recovery. Best wishes from me.
Delete*the city is becoming lively again.
DeleteOnce the news was announced, people like out from the prison! The street was so lively with all cars and people, enjoying their freedom, in groups of 2,3,4 or even more.
ReplyDeleteYes, like everything is back to normal which shouldn't be.
