Covid-19 MCO : Day #59 (Meat Eater)

Today I had another piece of steak and I made sure not to overcook it like I did the other day. I always put a timer on but I tend to allow it to cook longer than the time set because I don't want to eat a rare steak. Medium rare is fine but not rare. Geli. hah..hah..

This time I cooked the Murraypure grass fed sirloin.

This cook is better than the previous one.

Can ah?

The meat was tender and juicy.

Served with sauteed asparagus and mushrooms.

Very happy. Eat like so syiok. No need to go to steak house liao.

Yesterday afternoon I caught my cat casually strolling into my bedroom. She behaves as if the room and bed is hers.

So syiok sleep on my bed until terkangkang.

She even stretched her legs while I was taking her picture.

This is her waking up.

Sleepy face.

When I am in the kitchen, she hangs out at the doorway.

She came to ask for a piece of steak but I ignored her because today she refused to eat her ProDiet fish. Haiz....

  4. Ah, you nailed the medium rare this time. This one even better than the last one coz it came with expensive sides of asparagus and mushrooms....I like. I noticed the steaks you bought don't have a lot of fats...I double like! ^o^ I wonder if your lahling will be jealous thinking here I'm eating a poor man's porridge while my other half is living it up with premium steaks...wahahahaha! :D You use a timer for your steaks...but how do you know how long to cook it for to get the doneness you want since the steak's weight is different with each piece?

I've seen Cookie stretch like that before...if feels so syiok! As for your girl not wanting her wet food, no need to be alarmed as long as she's still eating her dry food. Some cats actually prefer dry food over wet. My cat took 6 years before he switched back to wet food (he loved it as a kitten but one day he just suddenly stopped). He had some teeth problems late last year, that's why he's willing to eat wet now. Opinions are divided, some say wet is better while others think dry is better. A combination of both is probably the best...ultmately the cat decides...he eats what he wants! ;D P/S: Girl is quite the celebrity...she woke up to flashing (camera) lights...lol!

    1. Thank you...thank you... Basically I followed the guide from the internet, something like 4-5 minutes per side for a steak thickness of 1 inch. The one I cooked is less than 1 inch in thickness so I agak-agak 3 minutes per side and it seemed to work heh..heh...

My Girl has been a bit inconsistent lately. Sometimes, she is ok with the wet food and will finish it. Then on another day, she will be fussy and refuse the wet food and preferring dry food. So I give her the dry food and then in the evening, I don't give in. Eventually she eats the wet food. Pening kepala sometimes hah..hah...

  8. Wah! You cooked a perfect steak! I never dare to cook steak because I will tend to overcook and spoil the steak. I only dare to eat steak with very light pink colour. Lol! Your Girl so cute! So syiok sleeping until terkangkang. Next time you won't share with her, she may meow louder or show you sulky face.

  10. It's a little too rare for me, 10 more seconds on the skillet would be fine for me :)
