To be honest, I couldn't get the name of this place right. Certain names just stump me. Holla Halla. Halla Halla. Holla Hallo. Hallo! Hallo!
So when I visited I finally got it right. Halla Holla. Adoi.
Every time I walked past, I would take a peek and I would see people enjoying sandwiches/salads and coffee.
Then I told myself that I should drop by (since I have a thing for sourdough sandwiches) to check them out.
But it took me a while because such places are hard on the pocket. If you see sourdough, you know lah, expensive.
There is such a thing as sourdough cookies. I thought sourdough was only used for breads. Interesting.
But the servers will still hand you the hardcopy menu and you may choose to order the old fashioned way.
My orders came one by one starting with the Latte. Ah! How I miss expensive coffee! hah..hah..hah... Oh yes, it was good.
Followed by the Snail Bun which I saw at the counter and could not resist.
And then the Beef Major (roasted top side beef, gherkins, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, greens, whole grain mustard, home made blasamic sauce and mayo).
Thin slices of beef, melted cheese, mayo, tomato slices and lettuce. Taste wise, nothing notable or remarkable. I did not detect any gherkins, mustard or balsamic sauce.
Total damage, a heart stopping RM53.90. One experience is good enough. No regrets. Never try, never know.
A snail bun? Looks like a cinnamon roll. I guess it's sweet - it looks glazed. We have one place here - the snail bun is very nice but it is coated with coconut, not the same.
ReplyDeleteIt's sweet but I did not detect cinnamon, more buttery.
DeleteThat is certainly a damage to the wallet... hahaha... cafes prices for two drinks cost me around RM30 yesterday. I think most people go for the ambience and group conversations.
ReplyDeleteYes, such places are nice to hang out and have drinks and something to snack on but be prepared to pay the price! Cannot afford to go too often.
DeleteFor RM28, I would have hoped for a more generous filling for the sandwich. >_<
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. Haiz!
DeleteWow! What a nice meal! Does the snail bun have cinnamon taste? Nowadays I am depriving myself of latte and just drink iced long black though I love latte or cappuccino. Hahaha ๐ dunno y I m depriving myself. Good to see you enjoying yourself. ๐
ReplyDeleteThe snail bun is more of buttery taste, I did not detect cinnamon. I used to drink iced long black but now find that I prefer latte.
Deleteanother cafe for breakfast & teatime....but eh, this was your lunch?
ReplyDeleteYes, that was lunch. Very filling - sandwiches and a big bun.
DeleteI see you're starting to order latte...which is my fav coffee drink (never liked long black but like our kopi-o). A bit on the expensive side for just a smple sandwich, bun & coffee...especially when they don't turn out to be da bomb! ;D
ReplyDeleteI have grown very fond of latte and now I never order long black. Yup, the sandwich was nothing near the one I had at Kenny Hills Bakers.
