Covid-19 MCO : Day #68 (Healthy Cheat Day Meal)

Today is Sunday and Sunday is cheat day where I can eat nonsense as much as I want. But today, sempena Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, and besides Grabfood sent me a message saying that service today might be slow, I decided to cook me a cheat meal. A healthy one.

If it is healthy, then why call it a cheat meal? Because the portion size is huge with fatty meat hah..hah...

Oh, ya before we get into my so called cheat meal, last night I had my first tapau meal.

Wat tan hor, ah!

heh..heh..heh... It was after work, my partner picked me up and we headed to Restoran Golden Kim Wah@Damansara Kim to tapau dinner. It was raining heavily but my partner braved the rain with his trusty umbrella.

He had fried rice.

Nyum! Nyum! The wat tan hor was nice but no where near Champ's. "Of course lah. That one RM25 per plate of course it is better", my partner retorted. Halo... where got RM25 per plate? I think it is something like RM16 or RM18. OK lah, still more pricey, that I have to agree hee..hee...

So. My today's food.

Charred vegetables. My partner won't touch this. Can get sore throat he says.

There is rice underneath with topping of grilled fatty oinks, mushrooms, asparagus and tomatoes. Healthy mah? But on account of the fatty bits and big portion, I can say not so healthy lah.

Actually this is meant for my dinner. To eat in front of the telly while watching the last season of Breaking Bad

What was lunch? OK, a preview to my slimming food post (akan datang), steamed chicken fillet with bittergourd.

It may not look very exciting but it is actually very tasty. If you eat like this for one or two weeks, guarantee very slim one.

This one works too, is more exciting, but must keep the portion smaller than what I am serving here.

Yes! This morning my cat slept on the armchair.

Please Girl. Stay there. Leave Mommy's sofa alone.

Yeah, right Ma.........

Anyway, I lost the fight for the sofa and I bet tonight she will be back on the sofa while I am eating this.

    1. Yeas lunch was definitely healthier, something that might ngam you as it was not heavily seasoned.

  8. First of all, sore throat or no sore throat, I would eat those charred vegetables in an instant. Btw, how did you get so much charring on them? Can't be from roasting, right? It almost looks as if they were remnants from the bottom of a cast iron pan which you scraped when cooking the veggies...after cooking the fatty pork? ;)

I'm more attracted to your partner's fried rice (minus the frozen veggies) than your wat tan hor. I can see the rice grains are well separated (and not clumpy) that I can almost smell the wok hei...wahahahaha! :D Glad to see that your partner is now ok with eating outside food again. P/S: You can consider buying Girl her own cat bed on put that on the armchair...she might like it. ^_~

    1. I used my cast iron pan to char the vegetables after searing the fatty pork (the pork finished cooking in the oven). I am appreciating my cast iron pan more and more!

I was actually envying his plate of fried rice hah..hah... I told him, next week I want fried rice! I did take a look at cat beds on Lazada and I might get one for Girl :)

  12. I think your cheat meal is healthy as there are more vegetables than meat and the pork fat is healthy fat, so don't worry and you may continue to have your cheat meal like this :P
