I also did some freezer clearing. I found one big packet of chicken butt hee..hee...
I marinated the whole lot with some spices and air fried these nuggets in the air fryer. Wah! They were DELICIOUS hah..hah..hah...
I cooked the steak in the air fryer at 240C for 7 minutes (with benefit of hindsight I should have done at 6 minutes).
Then I fried 3 duck eggs.
When I was a kid, my grandpa's standard operating procedure was to go to town and buy crates and crates of bottled soft drinks like F&N Orange, Sarsi, Seven Up etc.
We grandkids had a grand time helping ourselves to all those sugary drinks. With benefit of hindsight, that was not such a good idea.
To my surprise, I saw boxes of these Medjool dates. Usually dates come out near Ramadan. Next year Hari Raya is at the end of March, so I guess right after Chinese New Year, we will immediately see Hari Raya goodies.
Same as you, nowadays I also find aerated/carbonated drinks and soda drinks taste yikes. Good also cos those drinks are not healthy and they do not help to quench your thirst.
ReplyDeleteRecently I had one orange drink (because the restaurant have me foc LOL!) and alamak, tasted so artificial.
DeleteIf I have to fry the eggs in the pan, I might as well fry the steak too...lol. No, I've not bought any CNY toxins (as you call it :D) yet. I can only think of buying two...my own fried prawn/fish crackers and bakkwa. Maybe I'll buy some pineapple tarts too for my husband while my son's favourite is bakkwa. P/S: Wishing you & your family a splendid New Year ahead! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Well, I fried the eggs using my wok, so. It's all right to indulge a bit in your family's selected favorites as you will be doing. Pineapple tarts are also a favorite at my end here. I might buy for them. Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year too!
DeleteFried chicken butt is selling at RM0.50 per piece. Sound expensive? I buy 2kg of fresh chicken butt from wet market at RM3 per kg. Just thinking what is the profit margin :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! The cost is very cheap and selling at RM0.50 per piece can still make profit but must sell a lot to make it worthwhile.
DeleteI am not into soft drink but still enjoy all the CNY goodiee :) Wishing you & family a very Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a very Happy New Year too!
DeleteNot going to eat those CNY goodies too as I am more cautious now, in case my body gets too heaty and falls sick. But my mom maybe stocking these goodies (but lesser nowadays), she says "for show" LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Still stock up mostly for guests when they come over.
DeleteI read an article, it says for all signs, this will be a great year to focus on making plans, solving problems, and behaving strategically in all areas of your life. Guess this will be my resolution too. No one single person will be all the way smooth sailing in his/her life, we may run into problems on and off, so the key is to stay positive and think of solutions.
ReplyDeleteYup, we have to adopt such attitude and strategies all the time. I agree that we will experience ups and downs. And when it is down, our attitude and positive outlook will help to lift is up although certain situations may be more challenging than others.
Deleteππππ€€ π€€π€€ at your steak and eggs.
ReplyDeleteI won't be buying any cny cookies this year.
I dare not buy any CNY snacks yet because I can't imagine if I started snacking from now, I will most probably can't fit into all my new clothes. >_<
ReplyDeletehah..hah..hah... yeah, better not!
