I have seen natto on social media and the late Anthony Bourdain ate this slimy fermented beans in an episode of his TV show.
Since I am into fermented foods, I thought I should try it. At least once.
This was how it was served with a raw quail egg. I basically mixed everything together and the taste was quite all right. It was nice eaten with the salmon.
After this meal, I decided that it would probably be better if I did not eat anymore natto because these being beans, the carbohydrate content is still high in spite of being fermented.
Earlier that morning, while on my way to tapau lunch for my mum, I saw a group of people working out at the small field outside The Starling.
Those individuals must be employees of a company nearby. I am glad I am not working in a big corporation because I don't like such group activities.
Not sure if I will like natto eaten with raw quail egg. I understand it has some kind of health benefits.
ReplyDeleteIt contains beneficial enzymes and vitamin K2.
DeleteI ate natto when I was in Kyoto. Haven't eaten any in kl yet. I think it is quite difficult to stir the natto vigorously when they are served on plates. Same here, I don't like group activities.
ReplyDeleteI had to mix it very gently so as not to spill natto all over the place LOL!
DeleteGood morning! I don't like group activities too so I am glad I am working from home. I have no lack of things to do at home and I have my own way of entertaining myself.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon! I also have loads of things to do at home hah..hah...
DeleteYes, I've seen the late Anthony Bourdain eating natto and knew it's an acquired taste...and since I don't do well with acquired tastes and don't particularly like fermented foods, I dare not try...lol. Wow, you're a small eater during these 2 meals...just fish & natto (very unlike you)! Clap! Clap! Clap! :D
ReplyDeletehah..hah... the salmon was very filling. I think due to the high content of fats.
DeleteBoth your Natto order were creatively sharped to heart and question mark. :P
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought too :)
