Natto

I have seen natto on social media and the late Anthony Bourdain ate this slimy fermented beans in an episode of his TV show.

Since I am into fermented foods, I thought I should try it. At least once.

I went to Fujisawa Kyanpu Bar to eat Salmon Shioyaki and I added an order for natto.

This was how it was served with a raw quail egg. I basically mixed everything together and the taste was quite all right. It was nice eaten with the salmon.

Some two weeks later, I visited Fujisawa Izakaya and had natto again.

This time, I had the grilled salmon head, Salmon Kama Shioyaki.

After this meal, I decided that it would probably be better if I did not eat anymore natto because these being beans, the carbohydrate content is still high in spite of being fermented.

Earlier that morning, while on my way to tapau lunch for my mum, I saw a group of people working out at the small field outside The Starling.

Those individuals must be employees of a company nearby. I am glad I am not working in a big corporation because I don't like such group activities.

Sushiplus has opened for business at the basement of The Starling

Since I can only eat sashimi, I won't be having any of these.

Meanwhile, there is another Korean restaurant opening at the basement.

Obba Jjang. It is just next door to Hanam BBQ. This should be interesting.

  2. I ate natto when I was in Kyoto. Haven't eaten any in kl yet. I think it is quite difficult to stir the natto vigorously when they are served on plates. Same here, I don't like group activities.

    1. I had to mix it very gently so as not to spill natto all over the place LOL!

  3. Good morning! I don't like group activities too so I am glad I am working from home. I have no lack of things to do at home and I have my own way of entertaining myself.

  4. Yes, I've seen the late Anthony Bourdain eating natto and knew it's an acquired taste...and since I don't do well with acquired tastes and don't particularly like fermented foods, I dare not try...lol. Wow, you're a small eater during these 2 meals...just fish & natto (very unlike you)! Clap! Clap! Clap! :D
