Hello Auntie!

I was at The Starling yesterday, minding my own business when someone piped up "Hello auntie! Want to buy snacks?"

Cilaka the fella, what auntie? 

When you call me auntie, you won't get any business from me. So I just smiled (under my mask) and shook my head, my ego slightly dented, and walked away.

Yesterday was Wesak Day and I went to the office as usual. Before leaving for work I spent some time in the garden.

My pink Bunga Raya was blooming. 

It rained heavily the night before. Let's see what else I have in the garden.

My chives are flourishing. This one thrives on neglect. It won't die on you.

I am again trying to grow Chinese Celery (daun sup). I hope this one jadi. 

My lime plant refuses to flower and hence I will not have any limes.

I have loads of pandan.

And curry leaves.

This Kaffir Lime plant has been with me for centuries. The leaves are so fragrant!

My Belle Belle was resting at the car porch.

And so was Ah Girl.

At the office I managed to get quite a bit done and after my fabulous lunch I went to check out the food court. 

Those familiar will know that the food court at The Starling is called Foodies' Nest.

I noted that a new kiosk has taken over the one vacated by BeaverTails.

It's called Cakes & Crust, manned by a leng chai.

Wah! If this kiosk can tahan until September, I will come here for a cake bash on my birthday.

Oh dear! Another one bites the dust.

It used to be Wishbone Fried Chicken .....

And then changed to LA Chicken Lite.

Well, judging from what I thought about the chicken burger, I can't say I am surprised.

Meanwhile at Jaya Grocer there is a Taiwan Food Fair.

I am not much into Taiwanese food. In fact the Taiwanese Fried Chicken place that I thought was awful has closed down.
