Too Clean? It's Awesome!

So OK. I am entitled to change my mind, am I not? The first time I went to Rawsome@Uptown 3 I did not enjoy my lunch. It was no better the second visit.

Guess what? I went back nevertheless because I may not have been fair in my assessment. The meals I chose were not suited to my taste. There could be others that I might enjoy.

So I went to The Starling first to check some stuff and took the shortcut from Daiso to Uptown 3. Question. When you pass a swing door (like the one above), do you push or pull the door?

Unless specified, I prefer to pull. Why? Because, when I pull, the door will swing forward when I exit, therefore I need not worry about the people behind me.

If I were to push, then the door swings backwards, and as courtesy dictates, I tend to stop to hold the door for the person behind me.

So there I was again. Eh, they have coffee lah. My weakness.

A Long Black. And it was good. This might just be the thing to lure me back.

For a fresh start, I got me the Rendang Tempeh.

Oh! I liked this a lot. I am a tempeh fan and the rendang sauce though unlike regular rendang, was rather tasty. The long beans were pleasantly green, not like on my earlier visit.

Seeing that I had a good experience, I decided to return (yes, for more coffee heh..heh...) to try the ....

... Blood Type Bowls. I have read about eating according to your blood type but I never took that seriously.

I started out with the Blood AB which contains cauliflower rice, steamed spinach, tempeh, sweet potatoes, tofu and curry sauce.

That looks healthy, doesn't it?

I dipped my fork into the curry sauce for a taste. It was sweetish and tasted of ginger and curry. It was more of a curry vinaigrette.

So I figured, the best way to eat is to dump the curry sauce into the food and kiau, kiau, kiau (mix, mix, mix).

Like this.

Oh! Very nice. Special mention about the tofu. It was very tasty. I simply loved it.

But where is my coffee? Unfortunately, as I was told, they have stopped serving coffee because there was something wrong with the water supply (I did not quite understand the full story). Bah!

Seeing that I enjoyed my food, the next day I came back for the Blood A which is similar to Blood AB except that it has pumpkin and brown rice quinoa instead of sweet potatoes and cauliflower rice.

I am neither blood type A nor AB. I just wanted to taste other people's blood wahahaha!!!

Like before, I poured the curry sauce into the food and mixed everything up.

These wholesome meals are rather filling and satisfying. I have changed my mind about the food at Rawsome and I feel that this is a viable option for me to eat clean and healthy. Now who says I can't enjoy eating clean? Certainly not me.

  2. I may not subscribe 100% to this wholesome and rawsome eating but I like the wooden bowls the food is served in, especially the one storing the curry sauce...can I take them home? Kikiki! ;)

  3. OMG! You went there to kiau kiau kiau just to try other people's blood. You are a funny vampire indeed!

I am a Blood A+ victim of yours. I felt my neck being bitten after your meal of pumpkin and brown rice quinoa! I should go over and try your blood type meals. I could guess that you are Blood O group cos you have this kinky & humorous criteria like Dame Edna. Muahahaha

  4. ah, you are so nice to give them a 3rd chance which totally changed your mind for the better. For a door like that I will look for the sign that says push or pull. if no sign, will just push most of the time cos if I pull, I will need to hold it for people to walk in from the opposite direction.

  6. I love what i see here, both the tempeh and blood type bowls i like, especially with ingrediemts such as sweet potatoes, cauliflower and tofu.

Usually i will push the door as it is easier and no need a lot of strength.
